1  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Cross stitch trousse on: June 25, 2006 11:00:40 AM
I found this project on the web
http://mclego.club.fr/TROUSSESETPANIERSAOUVRAGESDEFEES.html
and decide I could definitely do something similar.
So yesterday I tried stitching it (even thought the temperature now in Italy is unbearable...and in my stitching room it's even worse).

It has space for the pattern, ad pockets for threads or other notions. You can tie the ribbon around your scissor to prevent loosing them and the embroidery fabric goes in the big pocket (here it's a black aida with a half finished dragon poking underneath)
I will have to write down a tutorial becase my cross stitch group wants to sew them all together, right now I have to give them the dimensions of all the pieces so they can start embroidering the various parts and then we will meet to assemble them.

Hope you like it!

Wow, thanks!
I'm waiting for my new macbook in these days, and seriously thinking about a new sleeve also for me  Cool
I stll have to decide what to embroider on it, no more Stitch, maybe a black cat or Stitch's cousin "Angel", all pink with biiiig eyes!!  Grin

Haha that rocks! Where did you get the Apple embroidery file? I'd *kill* to have that for a friend's laptop bag.

Well, I have to admit I digitized it myself. It turned out nice even though the fabric I used for the sleeve was a bit too elastic and the color bands are not perfectly parallel. I used the old logo because I preferred the colors, the new one is too boring. I don't know if I've broken some copyright rule, obviously the mac logo is protected and everything but since I aint' selling anything I hope it's all right  Undecided
And (always hoping no rule is broken!) I can send you the file if you show me the finished bag afterwards!  Wink

Thanks for the feedback!!
And I have to admit that now that I added a small fabric lip to protect the laptop from scratches he uses it all the timem while before I was terribly angry because after all that work he always left it home  Grin

My boyfriend really loves two things (well, except myself I hope)
Stitch from disney's film Lilo and Stitch
Apple computers

So for Christmas I decided to fuse the two things and give him a unique sleeve for his Powerbook with stitch on it!

The sleeve is all stitched by me using a kind of thin neoprene, the front has also a fake fur layer (no risk of catching fur in the zipper, I used short haired one) with felt eyes appliqued on top.
On the back I embroidered the apple logo with "Contains the destruction weapon of experiment 627" (if you remember the movie, Stitch was experiment number 626, so my boyfriend must be the next one)

And here you see the sleeve with a laptop (not the right one, I used mine to make photos)

I really hope you like it, it's been a tough one!!
And as always my computer has an old black bag...and I never  make up my mind to do something for mine!

Here it is, I sewed it (well, to be honest my mother sewed it, I just gave directions because I was quite busy in that period) to bring it to our host. It was sewed in Italy (and some fabrics came from ebay from the USA i think)  and brought to Venezuela from where I'm posting right now! I liked how it turned out, it has orange lining and an inner pocket with the ladies name embroidered on it.
hope she likes it!

Great idea the felt legs! Next time I'll give it a go.
Hope the pic works now  Undecided
