1  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Tintin & Captain Haddock Recon'd Charms on: April 23, 2012 02:17:52 AM
Front:

Back:

I made these for a Tintin loving friend of mine using some free toys that we got at McDonalds, some magazine & map cutouts, and bottle caps.
At the top they have jump rings so they can be put on a necklace etc.

Thanks for looking.
2  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Walnut Lady Parts (NSFW/Mature) on: March 07, 2012 05:58:11 AM
Walnut into lady bits...i know, it a bit odd, but so am i.

the inside is painted with red and pink nail polish, other parts are from magazine cutouts (mostly of people's lips, for texture), and the hairs are made out of feathers that i curled like mad and then cut into small strands.
there is also a hole in the top so i can turn it into a necklace.

the backs (i made a couple of them), are painted with a shimmery pinky nail polish to look a bit like skin:
3  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / zippered pouch with skulls on: January 31, 2012 05:37:48 AM
i made this zippered pouch for a friend of mine...

the inside is also lined with the purple skull fabric:

4  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / beads and wire on: January 31, 2012 05:03:14 AM
so, photos first.  each pic is of the front and back:

then with small clear beads on the wire cage part:

to make them i knit a square with wire, with the large bead in the middle of the square, and then smooshed the wire around to make a sort of cage on the back.

hope the images are clear enough, and thanks for looking
5  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Reconstructed Dress--My first on: January 18, 2012 05:45:20 AM
My first dress! or any piece of clothing for that matter! (even if it is reconstructed).
I made it out of a tank top and a bed sheet, and it turned out well except I'm not crazy on the edge between the two so I think the belt hides the imperfections and ties the whole thing together. also, the skirt is big enough to wear a poofy skirt underneath and make it more retro.
thanks for looking.

and a whole length pic:
6  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Reconstructed Hoop Earrings on: January 17, 2012 05:54:39 AM
Hello! I made these earrings with two old yogurt containers, the mesh from a bag of clementines, and some beads + wire. I got the idea from http://21centurydressmakers.blogspot.com/ but changed around some things to suit the materials i had laying around the house and the colors i wanted. Here they are:

7  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / champagne cork earrings on: January 09, 2012 07:05:01 AM
i'm a little bit late posting this, but i made these earrings for new year's eve (y'know, champagne and new years):

they were really easy to make, i just added a couple of beads to make them a little more festive. next year i think i'm going to try this again but make them more elaborate. or i was thinking that they would make great toadstool earrings if i painted them (they are the perfect mushroom shape)
also, sorry for the poor quality of the image.
8  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / wire and bead hoop earrings on: December 16, 2011 07:13:09 AM
so these i made by knitting some long thin strips with beads and then just bending them into hoops. simple!

the wire is just soft, thin wire from a craft store and you can knit with it just like with wool.
9  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / feather brooch on: December 13, 2011 06:52:47 AM
so i made a feather brooch using a peacock feather and some black feathers, and it turned out pretty well:

only not really. really quickly the peacock feather starts separating and it doesnt really look as nice:

i dont know if theres a way i could get the peacock feather to stay together, maybe glue something behind the feather at the bottom? hmmm...any suggestions?
10  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Beer Mat Gift on: December 13, 2011 04:41:10 AM
so this is a gift for my boyfriend, who is really into beer. i found the frame in our basement, got the map in the background from an old national geographic, and the beer mats are ones that we have collected over time...its really simple but i think it turned out alright. Oh, and it may not be clear in the photo, but the frame does have glass on top.
