3  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / Re: Food Gifts - What are You Going to Gift? on: November 22, 2011 02:52:13 PM
We have made Lemon curd, piccalilli, and apple pear and blueberry jelly so far. Next week we are making marmalade, cookies, chocolate truffles and peppermint bark!!

My kids always spend a day with Grandma at the beginning of the Christmas school holidays to make presents for the family. They started going as soon as they were old enough to stand on a chair at the kitchen counter and even though my son is now 20 and away at university he still wants to go for his 'making day'
4  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / Chilled Lemon Cheesecake on: November 22, 2011 02:43:42 PM
Suggestions please! I'm making a lemon cheesecake for a thanksgiving dinner this weekend and wondered if anyone has a favourite they can suggest. I'd rather go for a chilled not baked version if possible. Equally not too sweet a bit of bite to it would be nice!
5  COOKING / Dessert / Re: Easy-to-make, Amazing Peppermint Bark on: November 16, 2011 02:28:34 PM
A similar but different recipe given my kids always loved
melt dark chocolate and white chocolate in separate bowls. Stir peanut butter (crunchy for choice!) into the white chocolate and alternate blobs of the 2 across a cookie sheet. Swirl them gently together to get a marble effect and chill! then lock the front door and eat it all your self!!!
Actually having written this I'm off to find the chocolate stash and the PB!!
6  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Re: vintage fabric bag! on: November 16, 2011 02:01:14 PM
I love the fabric - my mum had an apron from this fabric when I was a kid!
7  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Pop Up Play Tent on: November 16, 2011 07:36:25 AM
After much swearing and cursing at the pop up element of the this project - we have finally finished it! Not sure I'd attempt another one though. It was pretty tough to get through the sewing machine but it looks grand now its done! Wish I'd had one when I was little 7 feet high at the tallest point and 5 feet across (approximately)

Not sure if the picture has uploaded so a link to my picasaweb in case! This technical stuff is too complex for me!!
