4  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: 80's Cartoon Swap Gallery! on: June 28, 2005 05:28:45 PM
I got the most awesome-est package from grrlfriday last Monday!!  It's the best package EVER.  I've been meaning to post pics all week, but I've been stressed out from being laid off (boo hoo).

Check out all the cool postage stamps on the package!

Grrlfriday silkscreened the coolest hoody ever!!  It's of the Misfits logo and I've literally been wearing it everyday.  Plus its an American Apparel hoody and it's so soft.

Check out the great job she did with the logo!

Plus she scored me a vintage JEM doll complete with bangle bracelets.  I've been braiding her hair and I plan on sewing her some clothes.

And she handcrafted some "Showtime Synergy" earrings, which are great.  I love how they sparkle!

And she made me JEM magnets with all of my fav characters.

Grrlfriday also made me a JEM CD and a kickass Jerrica pin.  I put the pin on my denim jacket and have already been getting compliments.

This swap was so much fun.  And I just LOVE everything that my partner made me.  Thanks grrlfriday for everything!  You are truly outrageous! Smiley Smiley Smiley Smiley Smiley

Grrlfriday received my package today.  Here is what I sent her:

Some fun 80's cartoon notecards.

This is an embroidered top of Kimber, her favorite JEM character.

And some JEM inspired earrings.

Here is the amazing package I received from 706Designs.  I got it almost 2 weeks ago, but its taken me that long to figure out how to post photos Roll Eyes

She sent me a gorgeous purselet!  706Designs says this is only the 2nd knitted/felted purse she's made, but I don't believe her.  Its so well made and it has shimmery square beads sewn onto the front and a beautiful vintage button closure. Its hard to see the button in the photos, but it looks like its made of translucent bubbles.

706Designs did her research and found out that I want to start making jewelry, so she sent me a bag full of jewelry making supplies.  It was stocked with findings and super cute beads, like ice cream cones, flowers and navel orange beads.

I also received a sheet of bright green polka dot felt, which I can't wait to craft with.  Plus she sent me a shaving bar from Gorgeous Gams, which smells yummy!  www.prairelandherbs.com  And she got me a Popsicle maker, which totally reminds me of being kid during spring.  But this time around I'm going to make spiked punch pops.

Thank you so much for the fantastic package.  I love it!
7  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Joss Swap (Buffy/Angel) - Round 2! Gallery on: June 10, 2005 07:36:36 AM
Krebstar5 - How was the Serenity screening?  I can't wait to see it.

All of these crafts turned out amazing!  Such thought went into making them.  I love Joss Whedon, hopefully there will be another Joss swap in the future  Wink  I was a newbie when this one started.

9  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Discussion and Questions / Re: Stenciling on a Mirror? on: June 09, 2005 10:30:58 AM
I'm sure you can stencil on a mirror.  In high school I silk-screened on a mirror and it totally worked.  I screened the old Bust magazine logo with red ink.  I'll try to post pics sometime soon.
10  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / Re: work survival kit on: June 09, 2005 10:01:28 AM
I hate my boring office job too. Sad

You can make a small picture frame and put a silly photo of the two of you in it.  Buy a stress ball and sew/knit a cover for it.  A tiny book of crossword puzzles, in case she has a lot of down time.  A small plant, to remind her of the outdoors.  A mouse or keyboard wrist rest which you can also knit/sew a cover for.  A funky/gaudy coffee mug, for example take a cheap coffee mug and glue huge rhinestones all over it.  Whatever you do, I'm sure she'll love it.
