1  Re: the owl cable hat - it's hootarific! in Knitting: Completed Projects by autumnelayne on: February 06, 2007 09:09:37 PM
Here's Mine! Heh.

I followed the pattern till a couple rows after the owls were finished and started decreasing. It's not so bad that it's a little tall, it's still snug, but the owls definently need to be moved down closer to the ribbing so you can see them better imho  Wink

Hi again  Smiley
I just finished moving my blog to a new location and the link to my little experiment has been updated above. Also, here is some yarn I spun from roving that I dyed with a mix of moss green and delphinium blue.

I am such a scatterbrain lately  Roll Eyes, but everyone's feedback has now been updated! Here is the wicked cool bag I hobbit54 made me! I have been using the heck out of it (umm, notice fuzzy yarn fluff on the lining lol):

Thanks so much!  Smiley I also got a teal vinyl shell to make a smaller bag out of.
Also here is a bigger pic of the fabric on hobbit's bag, it had all her favorite colors and since she is going to school to be an architect I thought the print was too perfect Cheesy

Here is some more eye candy for you. We just go them in at Dick Blick. I just thought the arrangement of the pockets and such might give ya some ideas :

A smaller sized bag:

A back pack style, some of the pockets are pleated so you can stuff more into them which is cool:

And the "Save a Horse, Ride a Cowboy" tote. A cool feature of this one is that one of the zipper pockets are made of vinyl incase you have any wet media! :

*Just disclaiming/reminding that these are not handmade, we sell them at Dick Blick Art Materials and they are super-pricey..between $50 and $90!!!*

I'm so glad you like my stuff Taloola I hope you get as much use out of it as I am with the stuff you made me! You got it quick too that's awesome! Here is the macrame market bag I made. I think I used like 150 yards of hemp in it! In that one pic you see it fits a box of cereal, large jar of peanut butter, olive oil and some oranges with room to spare (not included in the package of course lol).

This is the cordurouy wallet I made to go with the market bag. It hooks onto to bag so she doesn't have to carry her whole purse in the store.

And of course the proverbial green purse. It's a small gusset messanger style one and I cut and appliqued peices of felt to resemble poppies! You can't see the strap fabric very well but it's got images of honeybees on it. I also threw in a little hemp keychain made with hemp that I dyed with tea:

This was a very very fun swap, thanks for organizing Crafty_Dame! Taloola you da best  Kiss.

Superterrific Grin I'm glad to see so many interested! I tell ya what I will go-a-hunting for any helpful tutes or examples I can find of compartment bags or anything else like that and post them here. Feast your eyes on this baby though!

Taloola made it for me as part of the Green Purse swap (we swapped extra stuff too including that adorable owl!). It's large enough for an 11x14 sketchbook among many other supplies I like to tote around! In case your wonderin' why I'd need another art supply tote...I'd like to start doing some watercolor paintings in smaller books and on postcards, and sometimes carry smaller sketchbooks Wink...anyhoo will see what else I can find to inspire ya!

Eeeek wow! I had some catching up to do here! Everybody's bags are just so cool! Me and Taloola found we had so much in common that we decided to make 2 bags for eachother! The first being the green purse, and the second was the messanger bag she made for my art supplies and I made her a special market shopping bag (which she'll be getting any day now and I have pics ready to go  Wink ). So, I know she posted pics but here are mine anyways. The messanger bag is oh so awesome to hold all my art supplies, digi-cam, and even my mammoth macrame work board!!!!! I love the hobo purse which is reversable, and I've been using it since I got it! The owl is so cute, he's perched in my art studio!!! I can't wait for you to get your package too Taloola!!!!

Thanks so much! Cheesy
