1  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing in General: Discussion and Questions / Rust on my sewing machine on: October 28, 2011 04:54:53 AM
I have an old model SINGER sewing machine and has been unused for a couple of years. When I checked it recently, I saw rust form on its wheel/ring and it started to run slower and a bit produces a clicking sound. Any suggestions to solve this problem?
2  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing in General: Discussion and Questions / HOW TO: Sew a patch onto a long-sleeved shirt on: October 28, 2011 04:47:44 AM
Why is it that when I try sewing a patch on it, too much fabric gathers up and I end up having a small ruffles (effect) instead. Do I have to use a specific kind of machine or just undo the side seam and then repeat sewing it?
3  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing Machines: Discussion and Questions / Freemotion sewing for quilts, anyone? on: October 28, 2011 04:37:20 AM

Also, I hope your answers come in with some good sites to where I can buy sewing machines.

6  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing in General: Discussion and Questions / What stitch to use to piece a hoodie together? on: October 28, 2011 04:13:53 AM
I have an old jacket here and wanted to sew a hood for it so that I can use it again.
I have a standard Brother sewing machine and is wondering how do I use it to sew together pieces of knit fabric together? I did see DIY hoodies but there's just no sewing process included. Hope you could help me. Thanks!  Smiley
7  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing Machines: Discussion and Questions / Sewing Machine? on: October 28, 2011 03:57:31 AM
What sewing machine is good for beginners? My niece will be having her birthday 2 months form now. I know she loves sewing and has been doing it by hand for the past years. I wanted to give her a sewing machine as a birthday present. I hope you could help me.
*and oh, she loves PINK. Is it possible to find a sewing machine with that color?
Thanks a lot!

Oh that's really annoying. I just had that experience recently. It just irritates me a lot for it ruins the 'good look, good quality' feel of my stitching. I still haven't found the best solution to that problem. Sad

Go with Vogue Sewing Book. It's like it has the most answers and information about sewing. You'll really find it useful anytime you're nuts with your sewing!  Wink
