oh and i made my own pattern based of a waist cincher i had.  it wasn't prefer and some things had to be altered along the way.  all together it's 18 pieces for both sides.

there is no boning just reenforcement stiches where the sections breaks, it doesn't roll up. 

it's thick because its a quilted fabric and it's lined with a camoflague cotton fabric so it is also fully reversible.

i couldn't get a good photo of the front so that one is blurry.  sorry

Basketweave is just doing front post stitches and back post stitches in equal numbers to make it look like a woven basket.   Just use this hat pattern and substitute the basketweave stitch pattern for the sides.  You can add on the brim later.

i made them
