31  World's tiniest pug in Polymer Clay: Completed Projects by Rachelslittlethings on: July 29, 2012 01:13:53 AM
My roommate has a pug and they have a hilarious way if sitting. I took pics of the dog and used him as my model. This is super tiny cause it's sitting on a penny. I carved it from 1 piece of clay with x-actos knifes, a tooth pick and needles then painted details with acrylic paint.

32  Pink & peach ombre cake in Polymer Clay: Completed Projects by Rachelslittlethings on: July 28, 2012 09:12:26 PM
Hi all. I haven't posted anything in a while. I've been busy with a move and freelance makeup jobs. Grin I hadn't made anything in like 2 months but my friend's birthday was coming up and I made her this little birthday cake complete with a little rose.

I have some free time now and I'm looking forward to making some new creations.

33  Fruit and flowers layer cake in Polymer Clay: Completed Projects by Rachelslittlethings on: May 26, 2012 09:50:07 PM

Love this one so much. Been looking at this cake for months and I had to make it. I did the layers then added a thin white layer in between, then afterwards I mixed up some of that "whipped cream" concoction and used a toothpick to apply it. Love how realistic it turned out. I mixed the berry colors with a bit of translucent clay to give them that dimensional look, and painted them with glaze. Love how those look.

34  Seafoam green, silver balls, pink flowers in Polymer Clay: Completed Projects by Rachelslittlethings on: May 26, 2012 09:39:41 PM

This is just like that purple one I've made twice. Mixed a seafoam green shade, and did multi colored flowers. Then put silver microbeads on the pleats.

35  Tiny blue French wedding cake in Polymer Clay: Completed Projects by Rachelslittlethings on: May 20, 2012 04:40:34 PM
I love these French wedding cakes so much cause of their gold details. I get to use that gold lacquer I love so much. This is my third French cake. It took me about 12 hours over 2 days. No new techniques I used to report. I'm not quite happy how the fleur de lis turned out. I measure and drew a sketch on paper and used that as a template. I need to find a better way. I've attempted them for 2 cakes now and they never turn out nice. It measures just over 3 inches tall and little less than 2 inches wide at the base.

36  Tiny French cake version 2.0 in Polymer Clay: Completed Projects by Rachelslittlethings on: May 10, 2012 07:43:42 PM
I got a custom request for this one. I finished in record time, only took 9.5 hours of sculpting and 30 mins baking. I really powered through this one. Didn't use any new techniques on this one, just the gold powder varnish. I wish I would have made the blue a little less teal and more white, but what can I do now Wink Also the blue ribbon isn't the exact shade but that's all I found at Michaels. Maybe I can paint the ribbon with some acrylic paint. Upon looking at these pictures I'm going to retouch the hot pink tips on the flowers.

37  Tiny cake de ja vu in Polymer Clay: Completed Projects by Rachelslittlethings on: April 21, 2012 01:07:41 AM
I made this one last year for a friend and someone saw it and requested the exact same one.

Excuse the varying color tints. I was using Instagram.

Here's the one I made last year to compare. I love seeing my progression and how I've improved.

39  Game of Thrones mini crown in Polymer Clay: Completed Projects by Rachelslittlethings on: April 19, 2012 08:28:28 PM
So obsessed with this show. The hairstyles and costumes are amazing but I especially love the crowns. Last week Renly debuted with the most awesome deer antler sort of crown.

Looking at it in retrospect the antlers extend higher but oh well. I found a cool technique for sculpting and baking where I made a little tin foil dome to hold the antlers in a certain way before/during baking. Then pulled it away after it was cured. Then I painted it with gold powder and lacquer. Love it. I wanna make the other crowns now.

40  Tiny treasure in Polymer Clay: Completed Projects by Rachelslittlethings on: April 17, 2012 11:49:38 PM
Made a quick bday gift for my friend who loves pirates. Put together the little box, stuck some gold clay treasure in and some rhinestones. Then after baking I painted it with gold lacquer. As you can see it's super small sitting on a penny.
