1  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Valentine's Day / My Valentines Day wreath on: January 17, 2015 08:47:12 AM
I had been seeing some coffee filter wreaths on pinterest so I decided to make a Valenties one. I had some styrofoam left over from my Halloween tombstones so I got my husband to cut me out a heart. I dyed the filters with paint and water, then let them dry. The next day I covered the wreath form with them and waaa laaa! I am very happy with it, especially since I spent $1 on a pack of filters at the Dollar Tree, and that was it. It's pretty big too, which I like.
2  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Saint Patrick's Day swap? on: January 03, 2015 06:48:06 PM
Does anyone know if there has ever been a St.Patrick's Day swap? I looked but couldn't find anything. The last few years my best friend and her family get together with our family and have corned beef and cabbage and some other yummy things. We all wear green and the kids do a "leprechaun trap" craft and various things. We also do some sneaky things when they aren't looking like put green footprints on the toilet seat, and turn things upside down. They think all the green stuff attracted a leprechaun that is playing tricks on them. It's so fun. Anyway, I think a swap would be fun!
3  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Ornament wreath on: December 07, 2014 05:12:54 PM
I'm doing a lot of red and gold this year inside and out. I made this wreath last week. I just love the way it turned out.
4  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Painted countertops on: November 17, 2014 05:31:25 PM
I was totally sick of my old off white stained countertops so I decided to finally get up the nerve and paint them. I sanded them well, then primed them with a good primer, painted them, then applied a sealer. I sanded between every few coats of the sealer and probably ended up with like 10 coats once it was all said and done. I have a before picture, but it's on my husband's phone so I will have to post it tomorrow. So, for now here is my finished work. Smiley

5  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / How about a craft for my pet swap? on: January 25, 2014 04:40:59 AM
I know this has been done before. I am wondering if anyone would be interested? I haven't ever organized, but I may be willing to look into it and give it ago. If there are other rounds, and whoever organized them wants to do it. That would be fine too. I don't want to step on any toes. Smiley I love making things for pets and my spoiled little buggers love getting things so I thought it would be fun.
6  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / What stocking stuffers are you crafting this year? on: October 06, 2013 05:05:37 PM
I like to fill stockings every year for not only my kids, but my husband, Mom, brother, his girlfriend, brother in law, and sometimes a few others. I have the kids stocking stuffers usually figured out. It's the adults I have trouble with. What do you craft for stocking stuffers? Or what ideas do you have? Men seem to be the hardest.
7  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Teen Swap? on: June 13, 2013 04:13:18 AM
My 14 year old daughter is dying to get involved in another swap. I'm trying to keep her occupied this Summer, but she is already getting bored! She would love to craft for another teen and maybe get a penpal? Just a thought Smiley
8  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Can this be knitted instead of crocheted? on: September 20, 2012 03:51:04 AM
My Step Mom made some beards with hats for my girls. I can't crochet but I can knit. I would LOVE to make some as gifts for Christmas. I know I can make the hat, but can something like the beard in this link be knitted?

9  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Stocking and stuffers? on: August 03, 2012 05:50:15 PM
This may have been done before, but I was thinking a swap for a stocking stuffed with goodies (some crafted, maybe some not) would be a neat swap. I think a stocking with some neat "smalls" would be really cool. Maybe even choose a number of partners or something. I'd love for my daughters to get stockings. They would love that.
10  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Summer vacation swap on: April 01, 2012 05:58:29 AM
Okay, I sure am full of new swap ideas to not be able to organize yet, but I wanted to share one more idea Smiley
What about a swap for things people could use on their vacation this Summer? Each person could tell what kind of vacation they were taking, where they were going, and some things they would be doing and their partner could craft things they could use. Just a few ideas I had were things to do on the way, games, things to keep kids busy. If they were spending time on the beach maybe beach bag or sand toy bag. Maybe a sunndress for a little girl to help beat the heat (and be extra cute), or a big brim hat to give shade to Mom. Ideas are endless. We camp a lot and I can think of tons of things to make for that; outdoor games, fishing stuff, bike baskets, crafts to do while there. What does everyone think?
