I had been seeing some coffee filter wreaths on pinterest so I decided to make a Valenties one. I had some styrofoam left over from my Halloween tombstones so I got my husband to cut me out a heart. I dyed the filters with paint and water, then let them dry. The next day I covered the wreath form with them and waaa laaa! I am very happy with it, especially since I spent $1 on a pack of filters at the Dollar Tree, and that was it. It's pretty big too, which I like.
Does anyone know if there has ever been a St.Patrick's Day swap? I looked but couldn't find anything. The last few years my best friend and her family get together with our family and have corned beef and cabbage and some other yummy things. We all wear green and the kids do a "leprechaun trap" craft and various things. We also do some sneaky things when they aren't looking like put green footprints on the toilet seat, and turn things upside down. They think all the green stuff attracted a leprechaun that is playing tricks on them. It's so fun. Anyway, I think a swap would be fun!
I was totally sick of my old off white stained countertops so I decided to finally get up the nerve and paint them. I sanded them well, then primed them with a good primer, painted them, then applied a sealer. I sanded between every few coats of the sealer and probably ended up with like 10 coats once it was all said and done. I have a before picture, but it's on my husband's phone so I will have to post it tomorrow. So, for now here is my finished work.
I know this has been done before. I am wondering if anyone would be interested? I haven't ever organized, but I may be willing to look into it and give it ago. If there are other rounds, and whoever organized them wants to do it. That would be fine too. I don't want to step on any toes. I love making things for pets and my spoiled little buggers love getting things so I thought it would be fun.
I like to fill stockings every year for not only my kids, but my husband, Mom, brother, his girlfriend, brother in law, and sometimes a few others. I have the kids stocking stuffers usually figured out. It's the adults I have trouble with. What do you craft for stocking stuffers? Or what ideas do you have? Men seem to be the hardest.
My 14 year old daughter is dying to get involved in another swap. I'm trying to keep her occupied this Summer, but she is already getting bored! She would love to craft for another teen and maybe get a penpal? Just a thought
