21  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Christmas Stocking Swap Round 11 (Signup thru Oct. 20; send out Dec. 4) on: October 18, 2015 11:58:39 AM
I'm thinking I should join this swap this year.  Would anyone be interested in a leather stocking?  Or wood carved items?

Leather stocking sounds awesome!!

That's an awesome sweater! I hit up the dollar store for embellishments too.

I am thinking of joining. I hope that my partner will want a stocking, and love all things Christmas as much as I do. I think I will do a small this time if I join so I don't stretch myself too thin. I also think I will get one for my husband. I have one for myself, and each of my daughters from previous stocking swaps. The one he has is just a store bought one.

I was at Hobby Lobby today and couldn't help taking a peek at a lot of the Christmas embellishments - I just had one little thing I wanted to clarify - Are we planning to make these garments able to withstand machine washing?

Personally, I would say that it's ok to make it not machine washable. I think that's something you probably should discuss it with your partner. I know that the sweater I made and posted to this thread is definitely not machine washable.

Ours weren't machine washable either. It would be tough to get a really tacky, over the top sweater to be washable.

The ones we did last year were so fun to make. There was some sewing, some hot glue, painting, appliqu, and whatever else we needed to do. Anyone can make them!

Got my Q sent in. I'm definitely going to be buying my base garment too! I'm not good at sewing clothing, and I can't knit or crochet a sweater. I Can't wait until partners. So excited!

I'm going to fill out my Q this evening. I'll have to ask my husband what kind of things he prefers. This is going to be so fun!

Can we get the sweater made for someone other than ourselves? I was thinking about my husband since he doesn't have one.

I'm probably going to be sending a day or two late. I'm in SC and the flooding is pretty bad making everything take longer. School was called  off today, and they may call it tomorrow.
