1  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Re: Christmas Ornament Wreaths on: December 20, 2015 06:15:51 AM
Wow, beautiful! The one I made last year was falling apart by this year. I used a pool noodle as a base and hot glue for the ornaments. I want to to another next year because it was so beautiful, but I want it to hold up better. How did you put yours together?

Thanks guys. I had to do some work to it this year. The ornaments wanted to fall off after being store for a year.  I think I will be making a new one for next year, but I need to figure out how to get it to hold up better.

Got this awesome sweater from Rantyhippie for my husband. He is going to wear it to our ugly sweater party, and he said he is going to wear it on our vacation right after Christmas. Thank you so much. It's great!

8  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Thanksgiving / Re: Thanksgiving menu? on: November 10, 2015 06:01:48 PM
My elderly friend passed to the other side. So it will just be me. Banquet TV dinner time.  Roll Eyes I'll buy two, so I have leftovers. The best part of Thanksgiving. Or maybe I will have the deli cut me some thick slices of turkey. For the sandwiches. And still have the snack plate and some pumpkin cookies. Or pumpkin bread for breakfasts. I could make several small loaves and give one to my daughter to take home.

I don't know. Thanksgiving is the 26th. I still have time to think about it. With any luck, I might be invited to someone else's party. Then I will just bring a covered dish of whatever they wish.

Edit: Momof2, what is Macaroni and cheese pie? Please share the recipe. That sounds good!

It's a staple of any get together here. Usually we just call it macaroni pie. I don't have an exact recipe. Basically you cook elbow macaroni. The mix with a couple eggs, evaporated milk, melted butter, salt and pepper, and grated cheese. Then you top with more cheese and bake. It's so good.

I'm sorry to hear about your friend. If you were her you would be welcome to have dinner with us!
9  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Thanksgiving / Re: Even Thanksgiving Requires Dog Costumes! on: November 08, 2015 05:13:19 AM
You gotta be kidding. That is just too cute!! I was just thinking the other day that I need to make something for my dog to wear. My daughter and I were brainstorming about hat a for the kids to wear and I said "hey we need to think of something for Twiggy too". I may have to borrow your idea.
10  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Thanksgiving / Re: Thanksgiving menu? on: November 08, 2015 05:09:18 AM
I'm not sure what all we will have because everyone in the family brings various things but the staples that are always there are

Turkey
Dressing and gravy
Cranberry sauce
Green beans
Macaroni and cheese pie
Pumpkin pie
Rolls
Broccoli casserole
Sweet potatoes with brown sugar and pecan topping or marshmallow

We usually also have banana pudding, pumpkin roll, some type of congealed salad, mashed potatoes, corn, and squash casserole.
