1  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Get Product and Website Opinions / Not your usual design on: May 11, 2012 11:08:16 AM
I chose the design for my website as I did not want the usual run-of-the-mill look.
However folks at home are not the happiest about it. Need some honest feedback about design and ease of use.

Need some honest feedback about design and ease of use of the site. Does it look awful? Is it very difficult to navigate?
Even if you hate it, please let me know.

2  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Crafty Business Discussion / website networking/promoting help on: May 11, 2012 10:50:26 AM
I have a site which is an online marketplace where you can buy and sell handcrafted items.

Besides the usual facebook/pinterest/tumblr/twitter networking any advice on places to advertise? Any particular website or sites? Any popular crafty blogs?

I've found that if I just do giveaways, its usually all the folks looking for the free giveaways who enter and I am not really reaching the people I want to. Any help is appreciated!

3  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Crafty Business Discussion / Need Advice!!!!! on: October 30, 2011 09:41:14 PM
Hi all:

I have a new website, www.zahoomi.com. It is similar to Etsy or Artfire in that sellers open their store and sell their products. However this site is limited to handmade items only. It has been about 2 months since the site has opened and I do have a few stores on board.

That said, I would appreciate any and all advice on how to market the website. I have personally talked to the local vendors, have a facebook page and have also tried a couple of other advertising venues. What do you guys think about google ad sense? Or advertising with facebook? Are these worth the money they charge? As the site is exceedingly new, should I go all out and spend a lot on advertising? Or wait for info to spread by word of mouth?

Any help in this matter, as well as any other thoughts would be appreciated!!!
