21  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Ongoing Wish Swap Round 107, 108, & 109 Gallery & Discussion on: January 12, 2015 12:41:04 PM
QP's package was very uplifting to receive in whats been such a difficult 3 weeks. Hubbys dad passed 23 days ago, funeral was Dec. 23. His mom just passed last night, that funeral is this friday. We were able to go see her saturday to spend time and say our goodbyes. she was not awake or alert, but I was honored to hold her hand for about 3 hours, and she had a good grip. Its mixed emotions all around here, we are so thankful that she (and dad) are no longer in pain or unable to breathe or know who the family is, and that they are once again together. Mom told hubbys sister on Friday, the day she went into the hospice facility, "Dad and i have a date at 9 pm. he told me not to wear tennies, and that I better have my butt ready!" that last part was something dad would say for sure! Karen (hubbys sister) painted mom's nails red and they looked lovely. His mom was a nurse for 50 years and I was blessed to be her daughter in law for over 30 years. Ive been a nurse in nursing homes as long as I've know his mom, and altho ive seen this happen many times, and knew what to expect, i am leaning strongly on my faith that his parents had a wonderful reunion in heaven and some day we will see them there too. If you can say a prayer or send love or light or your thoughts to our family, we would all so greatly appreciate it. Hubby has one brother and 4 sisters.

My thanks and hugs!

Hi I'm Laurel from Wisconsin. Married to Mark for 30 years, mom to a boy 22 and girl 27 and grandma to a 5 year old. We have 3 rescued dachshunds, I love the old ugly ones that no one wants.

*Please pm me if you find something on my pin boards that isn't listed below, sometimes I pin stuff for ideas but may have already made the item or received it and forgotten to mark it or just pinned it for a random idea.

I like: pretty much any color or color combo, tho i favor blues, patriotic, and peacock colors (blue/green/purple); daisys, lily of the valley, tulips; Bible verses; uplifting stuff

I do not want: clowns, roses, kiddie prints, cats, did i mention roses? And clowns? long, but true story Smiley

Allergies: cats and smoke

Here are my swap/claim Pinterest boards:

and a gift Pinterest board:

http://www.pinterest.com/rscowtown/123-make-for-gifts/   that I can give to others; i have a box in my craft room marked "gifts" and when i make something or an extra, I toss it in there so I can give it to someone.

Knit and Crocheted stuff:

Crocheted cacti (i can stuff and pot them):   http://www.pinterest.com/pin/104497653828349364/

do you knit or have a friend who does? I would love to receive any of these knit scarves:

or some of these stars in any colors or varigated colors:  http://www.pinterest.com/pin/149111437634300329/

This crocheted fox hat/scarf combo:  http://www.pinterest.com/pin/104497653829968563/

crocheted sunflowers:  http://www.pinterest.com/pin/49047083417865026/

Sewn items:

Orphan quilt squares--if you have some that long for a home, I'll gladly take them in, any size, pattern or colors

or if you have fabric scraps and feel like making string squares like these, I'd love them:  http://www.pinterest.com/pin/104497653826004452/

The family would love these! total of 5 would be fantastic (no roses or clown fabric please) otherwise any colors:  http://www.pinterest.com/pin/104497653825678794/

we need something like this (up to 3 would be great) for the cars:   http://www.pinterest.com/pin/173951604329205262/

I would also love some pin cushions in tea cups; if you find orphan cups, thats fine, or glue the cup to the saucer. This way I can take it room to room if I bring sewing out into the living room or into the bedroom. I would like 2 or 3 if you can.  NO ROSES PLEASE!!!!!!! sort of like this:  http://www.pinterest.com/pin/507288345497429361/

Other stuff that I like:

I'd love any of these types of journals:

Dachshund art
Prayer flags
Patriotic stuff
Stuff with the sun on it
Peacock stuff
Religious phrases/bible verses that can go on the wall

seaglass pieces that are 1+" ish in size would be great, blues, purples, greens are my favs

metal stamping blanks--i have a hammer and an alphabet set, just need some more metal to stamp on! (thanks Sylvan)

chandelier crystals with hooks or holes in them. any shapes, they would be great to add to mobiles and sun catchers
    long skinny crystals
    shorter teardrop shapes
    clear/see thru
or colors would be awesome too!

postcards with bible verses that we can send to fellow church members each month when we pick names for a family to pray for--rubber stamped or mixed media would be great!

t-shirt yarns, any colors

Thanks for considering me to craft for in this swap Smiley

the door is off, and now its in my dining room lol, the cabinet is 3/4 full and next to my table which is mostly cleared off, i sorted all my stencils, templates, dies and embossing folders into categories in the cabinet drawers AND I got hubby to put plastic up on the one craft room window that didn't have any on the inside, now its much warmer AND i sorted thru my stash of vintage sheets, vintage pillow cases and vintage sheet squares and even put some of the extra sheets way up high on a shelf. i had to remove the ironing board so hubby could get near the window and all that was doing was holding stuff i need to find a place to put so I can get at it and use it.

am off tomorrow as well so aside from a nurses meeting for an hour in the afternoon, i will be doing more cleaning and sorting, but i WILL START MY Documented Life Journal tomorrow and use some of the stamps I unearthed. You'd think that a person who owns a rubber stamp line of several thousand designs would have enough in her own line to stamp with HAHAHAHA said me never. I bought another alphabet set yesterday thats been driving me nuts cuz i wanted it, and I better not find that I already own it or you will hear me screaming.

so gonna sew in thread ends of grandson's not quite finished super hero quilt that was supposed to be done before Christmas and thinking of ways I can use all that vintage sheet square lovelyness as to destash it.

thankfully the punch i was lookin for was not in the closet in that wooden cabinet, but next to the cutting table in that wooden cabinet! I have now sort of sorted my stencils and dies into a large 3" deep drawer from the cabinet into holidays/words/numbers; another will be for flowers and something else; and another for textures. down the road I could take the door off and put my 3rd wood cabinet next to my mixed media area....oh heck i just told hubby about the idea. am going to grab my measuring tape and make it happen! pix when done!

I LOVE Turkey!!!

sure now im hungry!

I need to go find all my punches some of which are buried in the craft room closet, which I may very well get stuck in when I venture into it.

Here is a pic of my birth mom shopping in the yarn section of my closet...

See that unpainted wooden cabinet just past the yarn on the left? thats what I need to get to. infront of Mom are baskets barricading the way, they are about hip tall filled with yarn, and i see a package of batting and i tossed some pillow forms over there to empty a box yesterday.

wish me luck....
