46  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Paintings with acrylic and a bubble art on: October 25, 2011 10:22:05 PM
Here are some older paintings I made

These 2 are made from a solid painted canvas then splatter painted and finally a hand made stencil is spray painted on top - both had smears but I thought it gave it character
And yes they are flight of the conchord

Then there is:

my first attempt at any kind of shading - so painted shading, painted textured foliage and a handmade stencil spray painted on - the lines didn't come out for the tire swing and I goofed it up but it still looks cool

here they are all together on my wall with horrible lighting

and finally my bubble art - I added egg dye to bubbles and then blew on the different colors - I made a lot but this was my favorite

Sorry for my not so good camera and the horrible lighting

48  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / First plushie attempt without a printed out pattern on: October 23, 2011 11:08:22 PM

So after seeing SpookyPooky's (http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=390052.0)  amazing David Tennant doll I decided to try to make one of my mom.  It is no where near as awesome, but it works.

http://www.members.shaw.ca/plushie/ufoplush/  was a great website for advice on how to make a plushie.  I think for my next one I will have to find a printer that works so I can actually get the pattern instead of staring at the computer and hoping I am doing it okay.  Also might try to make the next doctor standing up, with a proportional head.

Any advice on how to make it look more like Dr.who?  I was thinking of making a Dalek plushie to go with it.  And of course I am hoping to put this all in a Tardis Pillow case to have a complete Dr.Who set for my mom (if I get my sewing machine to like me again)

Thanks for the idea and tutorial information!  I made mine more skeleton than Dia de los Muertos, but thats just because I got sick of sewing the details.

(I burned my felt... if you do stitch witch on steam - use a wet piece of felt inbetween the iron and the piece your ironing, it is not a pleasant smell otherwise.)
