1  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing in General: Discussion and Questions / Re: simple zipper tutorial on: October 30, 2012 09:13:20 AM
I did exactly one zipper replacement on jeans too.  Be not discouraged, however, it does look daunting, but it is doable.  I didn't necessarily take apart the jean, but I was able to wiggle it into place and then sewed it in like crazy.  It worked.  Just get after it.   Smiley

Very nice!  Love the twister idea!  Contemplating a Dorothy dress - b/c every costume wardrobe needs one.  Good Job!

Great info!  Seems I also can get the costume sewed up and out the door but not really complete w/o face done up!  I will devour this! Thank you.

I took on the challenge to make the formal garb of the Beast from Beauty and the Beast for a friend's 6 year old son.  The construction and making wasn't difficult.  The detailing was a bit; i.e., the piping tested my patience.  I used McCall's M6143 as my guide, actually very fortunate as I found it in the "out of print" section for $1.14 - Boys size 6-7.  It ran small though.  I used suit "C."  Very pleased and hope to make little boy smile!
