And even more goodness, cookie cutters! She bought the key, then taught herself how to do this, and made the rest! I see a lovely steampunk tea party in my future. And I'll be tracing around them for crafty projects, too.

I'm planning a steampunk tea party for early this summer, and I am definitely making myself a set of those--my favorite is the dirigible!

I received an AWESOME package from bookstorebabe yesterday.

It came in a big box and was very carefully wrapped...

The whole lot together:

(Please excuse the surrounding mess!)

A very pretty piece to hang on my wall:

Going along with the naturalist tendencies of the Victorians, which I love.  She made a reusable planner cover and a little box.  I don't think the picture does it justice, but the box is this gorgeous purpley-gold color.  Just the right size to hold some of my jewelry!

Next, bookstorebabe took a spice rack, painted parts of it copper and green and modified the bottles, filling them with sewing notions and office supplies, which I think is a really clever way of storing things!

A close-up of some of the bottles...

And finally, the pice de rsistance: An emergency gun to ward off airship pirates!

Thanks so much, bookstorebabe!  I love it all, now I only hope you like your package, too!

3  Re: Mug Rug Swap R3 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by thefourthwall on: February 08, 2012 06:58:01 AM
I received on Monday and was surprised to see that Bakeneko had sent me not one, but two mug rugs!!!

The first she was doing for "practice" but it turned out very cute...

with a very cool, scripty background...

And the second...

One side has an embroidered flower

and the other has a Dante Rossetti picture peeking out through a leaf!  I love it!

Close up.

I think it's Rossetti's "Prosperpine" (or Persephone); he's is a Pre-Raphaelite artist that I really like--how on earth did you get that image in fabric?!

And if that all wasn't enough, she sent me tea, too!

(sorry for the blurriness--I can't wait to try the Lemon!)

Thanks for such a fantastic package, Bakeneko!

OH. MY. GOSH. I know I've already posted my package from CraftyMamaBee, but I had to share.  Remember the awesome apple journal cover?

The apple is a pocket!!!!!  How awesome is that? I had put it on one of my school notebooks and was pulling it out when I realized it.  Sorry that I hadn't noticed at first, CMB!  Your work was even cooler than I'd realized!

5  Steampunk Stationary in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General by thefourthwall on: February 01, 2012 04:52:01 PM
I made a set of steampunk stationary for my friend's birthday.

I made a couple sets but forgot to take a picture of the steampunk one by itself while tied up.  And I already gave it away...

C&C welcome!

I received from CraftyMamaBee on Monday night, but I haven't been home with sunlight (or brain power) to take pictures until now.  CraftyMamaBee, totally rocked it--this package is full of win for me!!!

First, the whole lot.

My favorite color is green--and the tree with red buttons is awesome!

If the bag looks not flat, its because I have some school stuff in it--I took it to teach earlier this afternoon.

Close-up of the tree...

Then a journal cover with the most delicious apple, pear fabric that I don't think I would have ever picked up myself, but I absolutely love!

And then two little cases, again with fantastic fabric--I've put my ipod in one and my phone in the other.  I'm excited for these because I normally throw my gadgets loose in whatever purse or bag I've got--not smart!

Don't you love the red button? I do!

Thanks so much CraftyMamaBee--you nailed it!  Now I hope you like what I made half as well as I like what you made!

Sorry for the delay--these are the other two sets of inchies I received!

From audio:

My fav is the women's head in the swirling circle--very Vertigo!

From Quasior:

I'm so impressed by the hand-drawingness of them--I love the cogs especially!

9  Little Zipped Bags/ Pencil Case in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by thefourthwall on: December 15, 2011 12:51:55 PM
I made a zippered pouch (I'm gonna go ahead and call it a pencil case) for my eight-year old niece for Christmas, which will coordinate with a bag and journal, and I decided I needed one for myself, too!

I'd never sewn a zipper before, but I used this pattern, which was really clear and easy to follow.  http://sewmuch2luv.blogspot.com/2011/06/dont-fear-zipperbag-tutorial.html

Both of them together. Sorry it's a bit blurry.

The inside turned out to show the lining fabric.
My niece's...

Mine...

Thanks for looking!

What a great day!  We didn't have a chance to get our mail yesterday, so when we did today, I got a special Sunday surprise--inchies from Smmarrt!

I love them all--thanks so much, Smmarrt!

I'm just starting to get into inchies, but I can't wait until I have a ton that I can do something with...
