22  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Geisha Swap Round Two on: February 10, 2007 11:11:12 AM
I received a great swap package from lullababy today! I got:

-a block printed patch
-kanzashi from real kimono fabric
-a geisha atc
- a great geisha tshirt
-a super cute japanese lady doll!

I really loved every thing and it cheered me up while I was in bed sick today! Thanks, lullababy!

I am glad you enjoyed it!
Once again sorry it was late, I had a mishap with one of my projects.
I got your lovely package as well, I wish I knew how to tie an obi though! And unfortunately I forgot to take a picture of everything together when I got it, and now after doing a thorough clean through of my house, I can't remember where I put everything at the moment Sad
23  UNITED STATES / Rhode Island / Providence RI crafty business people collective (craft mafia?) on: January 28, 2007 11:45:21 AM
I really want to start one, but don't have a crafty business yet to start a craft mafia. I am currently unemployed and a student which makes it hard for me to start a website or etsy so I can sell my crafts, and it's hard to afford new supplies other than what I already have...which is a lot, but I would like to be able to buy new supplies sometimes. However I'd like to eventually be a crafty business person and start a craft mafia for the area! it would be great if we as a group could help people in a similar situation to me be able to start their own craft businesses. Does anyone in RI have maybe a crafty website that I could team up with you and sell some of my crafts on? Or maybe even know of some stores locally that I could get my crafts sold at so I can make money to start my own business? all I can think of is OOP! and that seems like you need to have a pretty established craft business already. thanks for any and all suggestions you may have!
24  NEWS AND DISCUSSION ABOUT CRAFTSTER / Suggest New Boards and New Features / general printmaking board on: January 14, 2007 04:10:58 PM
I think this would be a good idea! I want to ask a question about block printing, but there isn't a place! there are tons of techniques and methods of printmaking besides just silkscreening, so it would be neat to have a place to include them all.

I decided I loathed gwen stefani post no doubt AFTER I bought this record. I hated it so much that I was determined to make a bowl out of it, but I just got around to it today.

It didn't come out as I'd like but I think it is still neat. My hands are a bit tingly from the heat or whatever.

cute, where did you get the kimono fabric? I made covers for my kids minis
http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=134910.0
but since my kids friends have seen the ones my kids have they traded me yardwork in exchange for covers for the christmas nanos they got. ( I am evil rather then give them free covers I make them mow my lawn and rake muaaaahh )
I got the kimono fabric from a Japanese gift shop in Cambridge mass that sells vintage kimonos and cuts them up and sells the fabric when no one buys the kimonos
