1  Re: Then and Now: Transformations! in Craftster Craft Challenge Theme Ideas, Etc. by Ericasky on: February 01, 2012 06:37:30 PM
A good example would be a children's book I used to have when I was younger. It was called "Windows" I can't find any pictures of it but it was set up like this:

The pinwheel type mechanism would have one image layered under another. When you pulled the hoop it would slide the triangles of image (a) under image (b), then back when you pulled it again.

But this idea could be portrayed in a number of different ways as well. As an open-ended idea it allows this to be interpreted in a multitude of ways. I think it would be interesting to see the turn out.

2  Then and Now: Transformations! in Craftster Craft Challenge Theme Ideas, Etc. by Ericasky on: January 28, 2012 10:59:02 PM

A contest using virtually any form of media to represent a certain event, person, memory, etc, along with a summary explaining said media, that corresponds to a type of transformation  (i.e a caterpillar into a butterfly, before and after weight loss((or gain!)), before and after children, etc)

The entries should be judged by:
Inspiration
Originality
Representation
Quality
& Over-All Awesomeness!

This would be a great opportunity to create something very meaningful and sentimental while also helping to bring our community closer together.

3  Zombie Head Pin Cushion! (First Post) in Polymer Clay: Completed Projects by Ericasky on: January 25, 2012 01:25:18 PM
Hello! This is a bit delayed but I have been trolling on Craftster for awhile now and have yet to post any of my own stuff. So *deep inhale* here goes...

I decided to make most of my Christmas Gift this year and my co-worker Jen and I work in a fabric/craft store. We are constantly playing the "If a zombie apocalypse happened right now..." Game so I decided to make her this little fellow:

(Sorry for poor picture quality. I lack a real camera at the moment and only have a cell.)

I used Sculpty to make him, painted him with acrylic paint, and then glazed. I sewed the brain out of flannel reinforced with a stiff interfacing and stuffed it with sand before gluing it into place.
She really enjoyed it and it was pretty fun to make!
