1  green is a nice color, especially for a handbag. in Knitting: Completed Projects by electric rabbit on: November 11, 2005 02:52:10 PM
because i am terrified to try knitting anything that isn't a rectangle:

i made a liner for it to keep it from stretching like a mofo.

2  smiths jacket in Stenciling: Completed Projects by electric rabbit on: October 11, 2005 03:08:01 PM

just on the back:

"if it's not love then it's the bomb that will bring us together"

what never ceases to amuse me is how many people like to read the back of it to me out loud, as if someone else painted it on me while i wasn't looking.

3  how to get an free(ish) shirt at a pretty girls make graves show. in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by electric rabbit on: September 25, 2005 06:06:42 PM
the story behind it:
i was at a pretty girls make graves show a couple weeks ago, and i was wearing the test run of a silkscreened tshirt with a ribcage on it i made a while ago.  so, after the show the sound guy comes up to me and offers to trade me a PGMG shirt for the one i'm wearing.  they only had an adult xl of the shirt i wanted so i figured i could find something to do to spiff it up.  so we traded shirts.  i'm a pretty small girl, and he's not exactly a small guy, so it was a little tight.  i offered to make him one in his size, since i still had the filler on my screen, but he refused. Smiley

anyway, i made it into a dress. it's got japanese text on it, which i assume is lyrics.  in this picture i'm actually wearing a tulle skirt under it to make it long enough:

here's a close up of the bunny girl, which i had to cut out of the original shirt and sew back on to avoid cutting half of her off when i sewed up the sides:

5  owl purse from vintage iron-ons in Needlework: Completed Projects by electric rabbit on: September 25, 2005 05:35:15 PM
i found some vintage iron-on line drawings at the goodwill.  they were originally for tea towels with days of the week on them, but i left the words off and made a bag.  a bit wrinkled but here it is:

i used khaki cotton twill and dmc floss.

6  animal collective t-shirt in Stenciling: Completed Projects by electric rabbit on: September 25, 2005 05:08:39 PM
i think i have carpal tunnel now from drawing and cutting out this stencil.

i took the idea for the lettering from this picture:

then i drew the letters, and cut them out of freezer paper.

it's an old navy kids tee. they were on sale for $2, but it got shorter and wider in the wash (weird.)  has anyone found any good ways to fix that?  i'm assuming there's not much i can do but i thought i'd ask.
