62  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: Cell Phone Cozies on: April 24, 2005 07:08:23 PM
Hello, I finished my cell phone cozy.  I knitted it in a honeycomb cable pattern.  There was a iPod cozy knitted with a cable down the front (by Skuterrat) that was my inspiration.

Thanks, after knitting that one I really have increasing and decreasing down!
64  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: fru-fru flip flops on: April 11, 2005 12:10:21 PM
These flip flops are so easy and fun to make.  I made these two pairs by crochet-ing around the straps while sitting outside on a sunny day (great use of time).

I think I may try the knit a sew technique for the next two pair I have on the to do list.  They all look so good.

The flip flops are so much fun to make a wear.  I made these by crochet-ing around the straps.

We have had a few sunny weekends and I sat outside and made them; I didn't feel so bad for sitting around since I was "creating" something.

Love the bags!  Jumping from a scarf right into bags, I wish I was that brave. Wink

Oh your snake is such a cutie!  How did you make the tongue?  I wonder if you could wear your snake as a scarf....

Shmooey -- I don't think I've told you this, but your avatar makes me grin everytime I see it.

The snake is adorable, and I love the idea of a scarf!

Contratulations--these look great! What's next on your "to do" list?

Thank you  Smiley

As for the "To Do List"  Undecided oh my....
  • I am working on a set of hanging kitchen towels for my mom, a combo of both knitting and crochet.
  • I have cast on for a honeycomb cable cell phone cozy.
  • and I am dying to start a scarf/shawl in Trendsetter Seque uber ribbon yarn.
  • Then there's Knitty's Hallowig.
  • and a monk satchel for a friend.
  • and somewhere in there those dowel knitting needles.

I think I am going to have to bring the knitting on the subway...why oh why is so much of my time consumed by working, I need more fun time.

69  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Fuzzy Crochet Flip Flops on: April 10, 2005 05:36:59 PM
These fliop flops are so easy to make!  and with the $1.99 flip flops at Wal-Mart, you can't go wrong.

My favorite are the green ones with the bamboo bottom; they look like grass and remind me of summer.  I wore them to Home Depot, and recived a lot of nasty looks from the men in the wood section (I was getting dowels to make knitting needles), but, while in the garden section, someone remarked that I was going to have to mow my sandals!  The yarn is Red Heart Foxy.

I can see little girls loving the pink ones, they look like they should be worn to a birthday party.  The yarn is JoAnne Sensations Breeze.

Hope you like them.  I used the Lion Brand crochet technique:

I hope you enjoy them.
Coming soon, two more pairs!  A tasteful black, and not so tasteful orange and yellow.

This was my first knitting project, a cowl neck scarf pattern from Lion Brand.

The site also has pictures of two s-n-b scarves, wavy gravy and you drop it.

My grandma taught me to crochet as a kid, and for some reason I as always afraid to attempt knitting.  After the first project, I doubt I will go back to crochet.
