put oil on it, there are machine oils you can buy at your local store.
4  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing in General: Discussion and Questions / Re: What to do with this fabric? (add yours!) on: October 29, 2011 09:56:49 PM
since you mentioned you have basic sewing skills, why not make a curtain or table cloth, add ruffles on it. But if you mentioned you'll make stuff for the girls, how bout cute little skirts with matching scarf or headdress..

7  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing Machines: Discussion and Questions / Re: Sewing Heavy Fabric with a NON-Heavy Duty Sewing Machine on: October 20, 2011 04:33:59 AM
Another tip for sewing on heavy fabrics is to use adding machine tape on top of and underneath your fabric.  It can help the machine feed the fabric through the feeddogs.  You can also use strips of tissue paper (the type used in wrapping gifts, not the bathroom type).  The stitching will pierce the paper and you just rip it out after stitching.  Any paper remaining will not affect the seam.

If your machine has a presser foot pressure adjustment, try adjusting it up or down to see if that helps.

Could I use a Japanese paper for that? So i could still see the lines I'm following for the stitches..
8  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing Machines: Discussion and Questions / Re: Help ASAP please!! on: October 20, 2011 03:35:29 AM
My sewing machine is brother bm2600. I also had the same problem before, I figured out that I skipped to insert the thread on the hook on top of the needle before using the needle threader.. You can try threading the top thread from the start and try to look for the hook just above the needle area. Just try if it will work for you.
