1  Mission: Organization in CHALLENGE 35 ENTRIES by OxMonkey on: February 05, 2009 09:12:01 PM
My resolution this year is to try and get organized.  I suffer from a major case of packrat-itis so there's stuff everywhere you look.  You'll see in the "before" picture that I've kind of started with a box system but there are piles and piles of bills and statements and old receipts that need a good home so that's where the filing cabinet comes in.

I'd been searching on craigslist for one for a while but hadn't seen exactly what I wanted.  I'm a firm believer in dumpster diving (which, btw, contributes enormously to my disease!!) and as I was coming home from work the other day I saw 2 perfectly good cabinets so I dove away!!!

I only took one and that was enough...do you guys know how hard it is to fish one of those heavy things out of a dumpster?Huh

Anyway, I gave it a good cleaning and a few Ikea napkins later...here's the result!!

This is how it looked before

And after...

2  Any Withnail & I fans out there??? in Completed Projects by OxMonkey on: November 04, 2006 10:39:19 PM
I made this for a friend of mine a few months ago and I haven't had a chance to take pictures until now.
A few of his clothes I bought ready made but I hand stitched his coat and made all of his "props"
I decided to just post a link to my flickr because there are so many pictures.
Enjoy!!

4  I'd forgotten my... in CHALLENGE 11 ENTRIES by OxMonkey on: May 05, 2006 12:33:51 AM
I bought this print for about $1.50.  It's a reproduction of a vintage advertising art poster for "Pears Soap" with a little girl climbing into the bath tub with her Pears Soap.

BEFORE

AFTER

Nothing like lighting up...taking your clothes off...and enjoying a near-religious experience (...or so I've been told!! Wink)

And a few details:

5  Re: How's Your etsy Shop Doing? in Selling Crafts on Etsy.com by OxMonkey on: March 25, 2006 06:43:14 PM
okay, my hub thought the first prototype was a little dull so I made some changes.  Better?  Of course, the real one won't have tape on it.
i really like the concept and agree with your hubby...this second one looks nicer than the first.  i was thinking maybe you could do something like this instead.

OUTSIDE (cut hole to show charm inside)

INSIDE (either blank or you can write something on it)

Mind you i've forgotten how to work with photoshop and i hope i didn't offend you by actuallly altering your image

6  MY VERY FIRST BOOK PURSE in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by OxMonkey on: May 28, 2005 07:33:03 PM
I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this or if it should go in the reconstructed area  but hopefully it's ok!

So...I finished my first book purse tonight!  I like how it turned out but I really hope it holds up well since I got lazy and did it all with a glue gun  Embarrassed

I'll wear it for work tomorrow and test it out!  Wink

7  Christmas Magnetic Corkboards in Winter Holidays by OxMonkey on: May 07, 2005 08:24:25 PM
I painted these corkboards to sell for Christmas and I really like how they turned out!  I put small magnets on all four corners so they could stick to the fridge.
