1  Re: Coffee, coffee, coffee Swap! GALLERY of coffee goodness! in The Swap Gallery by twois on: October 19, 2006 04:12:05 PM
I got a whole box full o' goodness from flower today!!

Opening the box...

*squee!*

So much goodness...

There's a neato storage box (perfect for storing tea bags and spare coffee!), a frame, stitch markers (yay!), some earrings and hairpins, a super awesome mug pincushion (which may get mercilessly poked into being a DPN holder), a transfer thingy (haha, sorry, I dunno what to call it but it's so cool!) and coffee-colored fluffy yarn! Oh, and the best smelling candle ever, which is already half-burned down and making my townhouse smell super awesome.

Thanks flower!!!!

The first one's done!!

I used Plymouth Yarns' Suri Merino, which, for $5 a ball, is amazingly soft and is making me ALL sorts of happy. And looking at how much I have left from this one ball after making the first half, I'm certain both gloves together will easily be a one-skein project.

Total time was only a few hours... this was my first time using DPNs AND my first time cabling! I'm pretty pleased with how it looks, for sure.

I think you could easily take out one of the cabled rows... and I used a regular ol' cast on and bind off, not a cable cast on, and not a picot bind off.

Hopefully I'll be able to crank out the 2nd one tomorrow!
