11  Braggin' Bag in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by mommasfrogging on: December 11, 2011 07:43:26 AM
I am hoping that I can get some help with this bag.

This bag is something that my 7 yr old son designed(with some help) and then made(again with some help).   He wanted to make something for his sister for Christmas and chose to make her a bag to use to carry her ferret along.   This was his design for the most part and he did most of the work...cutting and sewing included.  The outside butterflies are a huge pocket all the way around for holding stuff for her ferret.

Now that you know a bit about the how and the why...here's the what.   Please help me let him know how he did.   He says that I am his Mom and supposed to love it.   Please help me by letting him know how he did.

Thank you so very much for this.

13  Tumbling Snowman in Quilting: Completed Projects by mommasfrogging on: December 11, 2011 06:34:30 AM
I don't usually use a lot of patterns when I quilt but this was one that I just could not pass up.  I am quite pleased with the results.   This is a "Happy Hollows Design" and there are many more very cute patterns at her website   www.happyhollowdesigns.com

I have to admit that this is not how or where this guy will be hung but it was the only place I could hang to take a decent pic.

14  Floor Pillow...with a little help in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by mommasfrogging on: December 11, 2011 06:20:00 AM
While making a couple floor pillows for the boys, 7 & 3, I was completely entertained by our Pom, Isaak.   He had a blast and made the entire creation time one that will not be forgotten any time soon.

Here's some info on the pillows.   I made a very simple pillow case from fleece and used velcro to close the end.   As my boys are destruction experts, I have found that fleece is about the most durable.   The pillows are made from muslin and filled with a foam block, wrapped in polyester batting and then filled with polyester stuffing to finish off the "guts" of the pillow.

Sorry about the pics not being the best.  I am still learning this camera and I was also doing a lot of laughing as well!!

15  Gift Bags...er..Totes in Winter Holidays by mommasfrogging on: November 30, 2011 05:18:55 PM
I have several people that I normally make goodie baskets for.   I fill them with home made candies, chocolates, cocoa tubes, "gifts-in-a-jar", mug rugs, bread towels, aprons, pot holders, hand towels, pj's, plushies and other small toys.   I also add things like mugs, spatulas, wooden spoon, cookie cutters, crayons, coloring books, etc.   the contents depend on who the basket is for.    I thought that instead of a basket, it would be cool to make a tote bag that can be used for different things than a basket and the kids would probably be happier with these anyway.

Please let me know what your thoughts are on the first 2 totes and also my idea.   Thanks!

16  Tree Skirt in Winter Holidays by mommasfrogging on: November 27, 2011 08:58:30 AM
I decided to try my hand at making a tree skirt this year.   I did not use a pattern but just kinda winged it as I went.  I was originally going to use a ribbon the edges but I decided that the fuller "fluffy" look it ended up with was a nice look.   I used a high loft batting(only one I had on hand and as I did this after midnight...well I used what I had) and plain muslin for the backing.   Please tell me what you think....

Thanks!

17  Team Purse in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by mommasfrogging on: October 11, 2011 07:24:30 PM
I am hoping that this comes through OK as it is my first post.   My sister is a huge fan of the Florida Gators and I made her this purse.   I have since made others in various sport teams.   I have also tailored each purse to the individual's taste/want/need.  Yet, as this is my first post, I went with my first run of this purse.

I would love to hear feedback on this...good, bad, or anything in between.

Well it won't let me add the pics but they are in the gallery under my user name.... mommasfrogging.   I hope they will be able to be viewed there.
