1  Looking to Lighten Jansport Backpack in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Discussion and Questions by jjjgrace on: August 17, 2014 12:38:54 PM
Hi! I'm starting my Junior year soon and I have my Jansport Backpack that I'm planning on using. However, I'm not a huge fan of the color. I just recently dyed my hair red, and the combonation of the two isn't ideal. So I'm looking for ways to lighten it/ dull the color. Ideally I'm looking for something this color: http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-OfrzRI8Ot5A/TgSbJXzqXFI/AAAAAAAAAcQ/2J0PODi5WSg/s1600/light+blue.jpg.

My first thought was bleach, but I'm not sure how well it work on this fabric, how harsh it would be, if it would damage the bag, etc. So if you all have any other ideas, or advice on how to properly bleach it, that would be fantastic! Thanks for any help.

2  Cloud Earrings in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by jjjgrace on: August 09, 2012 02:56:17 PM
Cloud Earrings I made today from FIMO clay.

I think they turned out pretty well...

If I were to sell something like these on Etsy, how much would you pay for them? I was thinking I could sell them for somewhere between $5 and $8.

Thanks!

3  Origami Shark Necklace in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by jjjgrace on: April 01, 2012 02:21:10 PM

My Origami Shark Necklace - made out of card-stock, wire, thread, paint, chain, and my hot glue gun.

I used this: http://youtu.be/MxqFdiCPS5k tutorial to make the shark head.
Then, I painted the teeth on and glued a wire inside of the origami puppet to make sure the mouth stayed open.
The fin is cut out of the same paper I used to make the head... it's hot-glued that to the top.
Next, I cut two of the fish out of orange paper, and painted the same design on each piece.
I got my tread and hot glued on of the fish on each side... like a sandwich.
I tied the string onto the wire inside of the shark puppet and hot glued the knot so it wouldn't untie. Last, I made wire loops and hot glued them into the folds on either side of the shark head, and attached the chain to those loops.

Hope you like it!
