i agree, i cant enjoy perfectly smooth soup either, especially campbells canned tomato soup.  the heartier tomato bisques have always been the tastiest on my palate.

I want to know if the Grey Goose is for courage or if it also goes in the recipe Cheesy

this recipe is a grey goose aftermath,  its also great for hang overs.

i used my remaining batter into a sponge im making for friend pumpkin bread later on today.

Woah!
I have got to try this.  But considering how many I'd have to make to keep my kids happy (not to mention the hubby), I may need to wait until I have a day with nothing to do.  Could you make it up until you dip them in batter, then store them in the fridge overnight?  Then I could just batter and fry right before breakfast.  Hmmm....

yes you can make the eggs balls ahead of time.  in fact you can wrap the eggs with sausage, roll in flour and store them in the freezer for up to a week before deep frying.  also the batter can be kept in the fridge for up to 3 days (after a few days the flavors meld and become even tastier.

i can eat two of these scotch eggs as a meal,  but 3 of them is what does me in.  you can make enough to serve 8 with a dozen eggs and 2 pounds of sausage.
5  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / Scotch Eggs with Ruby Squirt Batter -recipe on: October 04, 2011 11:12:41 PM
Ingredients:

2 cups pankcake mix
6 eggs
1 pound sausage
1 12 oz can ruby red squirt (or any other soda you like containing high fructose corn syrup)
1 oz ap flour
pinch of salt
quart of vegetable oil

hard boil 4 eggs before hand and de-shell them.

split pound of ground sausage into four equal parts,  roll into a ball and flatten them thin, placing the har boiled egg onto the flattened sausage and pull the sausage around engulfing the egg.  do this with all 4 eggs.  then take about an oz of ap flour  and roll the sausaged wrapped eggs into the flour.

prepare the batter by combining 2 cups pancake mix with 2 eggs (separate the yolks and beat the whites before adding) and a 12 oz soda of your choice, i use red pop or ruby squirt.  the batter should be fluff and sticky. add salt to taste.

bring vegetable boil to 350 degreees.   Dredge the sausage egg balls into the batter and deep fry for 9 minutes or until thoroughly browned and heady.

dusting with confection sugar is always suggested.

enjoy! =D
