Details of swap:

This has been a really fun swap in the past.  It gives participants a chance to get to know more about other members of our crafty community.

The idea is to find something that you have in common with your partner, and craft to that.  Maybe you dig the same TV show, or types of books.  Maybe your hair is the same color, maybe you both just love Mexican food, or you have the same number of kids.  Perhaps you both play an instrument, or both love to run. Whatever it is, you can craft something that has to do with your commonalities.

And we wanna hear what you have in common!  So make sure when you post your goodies in the gallery, that you share what your commonality is!  Grin

Also, don't forget that you need to post in the thread when you sign up, and drop in at least once a week, let us know you're crafting away merrily.

This swap will have a more in-depth q'naire than you might be used to, just to help get some juices flowing regarding what to share with your partner.  I realize that we are going to be sharing a lot of ourselves with total strangers, so be intelligent about what you tell them, but share as much as you feel comfortable with. The questions are mainly for guidelines, so if you feel uncomfortable answering any of them, feel free to skip those ones.

This swap will be for one medium and 2 smalls --OR-- 2 mediums.  Spoiling is allowed if agreed upon by partners.  (Of course spoiling is allowed!)  A handy dandy guide to sizes:

By Time
-Large = 3 or more hours
-Medium = 2 or more hours
-Small = 2 or less hours

By Size
-Large = A shawl, a shirt, a skirt, a set of jewelry with four to five items, a purse
-Medium = one single necklace or bracelet, a scarf
-Small = Earrings, stickers, wallets, pouches, bookmarks

By Price
-Large = $30 or more
-Medium = $10-$30 dollars
-Small = $10 or less

Send outs will be expected by July 30.  Tracking number will be required if shipping within the US.  If shipping internationally, PM me info from your receipt.

Ok, I had a swap package received by my Book Swap partner, so I can post a few things!  Yay!

Travel mug:

Mug rug (quote is from the book The City of Bones):

"Unfortunately, we're all out of bitter revenge at the moment, so it's either tea or nothing"

Amelia Peabody (LOOOVE that series) art on a notepad:

Double sided pendant, Amelia Peabody themed (luckily my partner's name also begins with A)-- side 1:

side 2: (I did send it with a chain attached, I promise!  LOL)

City of Bones t-shirt:

(I like the shirt so much that I'm going to make one for me, too!)

And the photo dump continues with a few other projects:

Desert colored infinity scarf:

Cotton candy infinity scarf #2:

Them instead are adorable!!! I need to do some RAKs too... I wonder if I could paint eyes and teeth onto a tissue cover rather than the embroidery... Magnets would also be a great RAK item!  See how inspiring you guys are?

Thanks, Smiley! You are so sweet! The patchwork is a mug rug with a City of Bones quote on it, it says, " unfortunately, we're all out of bitter revenge at the moment, so it's either tea or nothing. " And yes the symbols are also from City of Bones.

And it's so easy to fall in love with Amelia.  I think everyone should read those books, they rock!

I'm glad you like your shirt, ale0059! I'm going to make one like that for me, too. I really liked how it came out.

Oh my goodness, how can you go wrong with Aslan and Sherlock?  The fact that there is a book about Moriarty is just too delicious....!  Beautiful bookmarks, lovely earrings (someday I'm going to learn to do that beading), and dig that t-shirt!!

And I'm still getting the rhythm of all this posting and going back and viewing and learning everyone's usernames, but there hasn't been something posted yet that isn't amazing;) I'd love to swap something with someone... so I'm off to go see if I can find a way to do that;)

The Common Grounds swap will be opening next week-- it's loads of fun!  In fact, all of our nerdy friends should check it out on the swap ideas board!  LOL!
