sheepblue, I'm in awe!  Amazing tee, love the patches, and you made that steampunk pendant just for me, right?  Tongue

Meanwhile, I've been dabbling in miniatures again:

My son told me a year ago about a quilt he wanted, with the number Pi written out across it, and of course there's no place I know to buy something like that.  So I was forced to make it for his bday. I'm ridiculously proud of this quilt, so please forgive my rambling and copious pics.  I made the top from a sheet I bought at Walmart, and the bottom was a larger sheet from Goodwill.  First I drew a grid of 5 inch squares across the top. (Five inches coz that's what the bag for the batting said the maximum quilting distance was.) Then I created stencils that were 5 inch squares, centering the number on the stencil so that it would just fit into a square on the quilt, no further centering required.  Then I drew all the numbers on and hand painted every one.  All 238 of 'em.  Who knew that painting would make me feel like I'd been doing squats all day?  Maybe I earned a nicer backside! LOL!  Once all the numbers were painted on and dry (took 4 or 5 days to paint 'em all, BTW), I put the quilt bottom, batting and top together and stitched along the grid on my sewing machine, then bound the edges with contrasting quilt binding. Voila!  New quilt for a very happy birthday boy!

Oh, and just an FYI- the bookmarks I made last month for the free art prompt were (FINALLY!) distributed at the library yesterday!  It was so fun being covert and sneaking them into random books!  Cheesy

Project Name: button necklaces

Brief Description: The link to the Pinterest post that inspired this is above.  I made one of these last month, but it was so fun and easy that I just had to make more! I did make one change-- rather than poke jump rings thru the felt backing or sew them on, like they did for the example, I just made a couple of holes in the felt at the top for one button shank to poke thru on each side and attached the jump ring to the shank. Much more secure, I figure!
