1  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Wintr is Coming! Knit a Game of Thrones scarf! on: April 08, 2012 12:29:45 PM
So, I finally finished my Winter is Coming scarf a week ago, with just hours to spare before the premier. Then I blocked it. Then I waited for it to dry. Then I removed the pins. Then...it decided to curl up like a snail. Not sure why this happened, but I'm trying to make the best of it. It actually looks quite chic, sort of.

But anyway, this was the first time I had attempted Fair Isle knitting, ad it wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. I used Blue Sky Alpaca worsted cotton yarn (2 skeins tulip and 1 skein granite). It turned out super long; I'd say at least six feet if not longer.

And now, for photos!

The entire scarf

Closeup of the direwolf (I knit his head too close to the edge! Eek!)

My cat Thom got to be my unwitting model. He was not amused.

And the pattern for the direwolf in case anyone wants it

2  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Song of Ice and Fire/Game of Thrones Hankies on: December 05, 2011 03:44:10 PM
I recently started an ASoIaF craft blog and made a series of hankies for some of the major houses. The project involved sewing the hankies, sketching the designs and embroidering them. A small caveat: I'm not that great an artist, so some of the designs might be a little, ahem, interesting. But I get points for effort, right? RIGHT?

At any rate, behold: A Game/Clash/Storm/Feast/Dance of Hankies! For that one thing that happened in that one book that made you cry.
