2  Re: Garden supply swap 2009 [Signup 28 Feb - 7 March; Send out 6 April] in ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED by pearsonchick on: March 06, 2009 02:33:47 PM
When will it end?!?!? I want some spring!

This is my backyard. We moved here in January, so I have absolutely NO idea what is under the snow aside from those pine trees....and this bush. Cheesy

Any good plant detectives out there? Huh I have no idea what it is! It has little thorny looking things, but more like little hairs? Maybe I will have to wait and see?!

4  Flip Off! Earrings in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by pearsonchick on: June 01, 2007 09:20:41 PM
For those days when you want to tell someone to F off...lol
They have "Flip" written on the top, and "Off" on the bottom...

They are the flip tops for medications that we use during births at work but I thought they'd make cute earrings too.

Action shot

I think they would make really cute plugs too, if I could figure out how to make them.

Smiley Let me know what you think!

5  First Try at Wire/Glass Jewelery in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by pearsonchick on: April 06, 2007 10:26:02 AM
Hello everyone,

I made some jewelery recently for myself and had lots of comments on it at my clinic. Including people wanting to buy it. (I was shocked, but a bit excited)

So, here are a couple of my creations...I'm looking for any and all feedback from people with any level of experience. What you like, or don't like, etc etc.

[edit: remove pricing info! Sorry!!!! Sad ]

Okay, on to the photos.

My Rain Necklace...and earrings.

The blue glass ring, closeup.
The blue glass ring far away.

The red wrapped ring...

Closeup

I did a few more, necklace, pendent, bracelet of various things..but the pics didnt turn out so hot.

Anyway, thanks in advance for your help! Smiley

6  Midwife's Apron- Green/Brown in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by pearsonchick on: March 21, 2007 09:04:44 PM

Woop woop! Here's my new apron for my midwifery placement...we've had a slew of precip. labours/births so this will hopefully keep things at hand.
Space for pens, my translator, gloves, lube, paper, all that jazz.

My first apron, and I hand stitched it up in just a few minutes, but I really like it.

Total cost $2, plus TONS of extra fabric haha. Maybe I'll make some more?

Thanks for any input/tips/comments in advance. I like it for a first try though.

7  Re: Digital ATC gallery in Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) by pearsonchick on: February 15, 2007 02:32:57 AM
I love everything I've seen here so far! All really amazing work. Sewknitter, I agree with Teeisme about hearing the relief from the mom in the tub!

Okay...late though I am, I decided to have a crack at making an ATC. I don't have PS, so please bear with me!  Smiley

These are the first 4 in a set I'd like to do...
Here's the finished set from that old "Monday's Child" poem inspired me to make these...

Monday's child is fair of face,
Tuesday's child is full of grace,
Wednesday's child is full of woe.
Thursday's child has far to go.
Friday's child is loving and giving,
Saturday's child works hard for a living.
But the child born on the Sabbath day,
Is fair and wise and good and gay.

Constructive Crit would really be appreciated for my first attempt!

8  Labour Clock in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by pearsonchick on: February 14, 2007 12:25:17 AM
Hi All....

Well I made this clock, as I'm just generally getting excited about my midwifery apprenticeship. (I hope this counts as a houseware!!)

We need to have clocks in our labour room, and I TOTALLY understand the need for those standard clocks with large numbers so everyone's on the same page and details are recorded correctly...

I just think this would be nicer for a labouring mum to look at.

It's a woman labouring with her doula/midwife/support, and the bottom says "In her own time".

It's just on the table drying, perhaps I will replace the last pic with an "action pic" when it's up.

Thanks!

9  Balloon-girl Remake. in Completed Projects by pearsonchick on: February 14, 2007 12:11:59 AM
Hey craftsters!

So My friend's and I had these matching tshirts when we were growing up...We all wore them together by accident that day and were very pleased.

Anyway, we are still really good friends and I made this for the little one with the curly hair (now in her 20's)!

Just thought I'd post and share... it was my first time making something like this.

Sewed layers together and stitched it up to fit around some foam core.

10  Re: Loom knitted projects - show off your creations in Knitalongs by pearsonchick on: February 10, 2007 02:22:23 PM
Wow...I just found this thread now, and I'm so excited! I love the KK looms.

Here's a little mermaid doll I made on the blue loom...sorry about the bad pics.  Undecided

and a close up of her face. (She does have blue/green eyes, not that you can tell.)

Anyway, just thought I'd toss her up on the board too!
