Journaling Prompts

Find a deck of cards and alter them – write/print/stamp a prompt on one side and ‘do’ the prompt on the other!  A fun, no pressure swap, with no stalking of partners, just your own interpretation of different prompts.
So what to do? Basically get an ordinary pack of playing cards, find or make up a list of journaling or art journaling prompts, place the prompt text on one side of the card, then  ‘do’ the prompt on the other side of the card in your preferred style. Art Journaling or Journaling styles are acceptable. You can do the same prompts for each of your partners, or you can do different prompts - its up to you. We will be sending 2 cards to each partner so please think about time commitment when signing up as 30 cards will take a while to do! (5 partners x 3 groups =15 partners x 2 cards each = 30 cards!)

Please don’t punch holes in the cards (they may not be where your partner wants them) and please don’t make them too 3D as some people may want to put them in plastic wallets or to bind the cards into a book of some kind.

Depending on numbers I will split us into groups of up to 6.
If you are interested in being in more than one group please let me know on the questionnaire. You may be in a maximum of 3 groups. Please understand that multiple groups are dependent on the number of participants and that the group size may vary slightly, but will be as even as possible.

This is open to everyone, so please only sign up if you are willing to post internationally ESPECIALLY if you want to be in multiple groups (we will be sending envelopes only, so postage shouldn’t be a problem). Also as we will only be sending envelopes, DC’s are not required – but proof of posting IS a requirement for this swap, just in case something goes missing (don’t know how this works in other countries, but in UK you ask for proof of posting when you send at post office and you get receipt with details of the addressee, date sent etc on it). Resending won’t be required if something goes missing – but ONLY if you can provide proof of posting, otherwise you will be required to resend.

Communication is vital for a fun swap so please post in the discussion thread at least once a week. Also please respond quickly to pms from your partners and the organizers. When sending pms to the organizer/co-organizer please use the following in the subject line: Journaling Prompts sent/received/late/help etc. Please pm your group leader and your partners when you send and when you receive.
If you have any questions regarding the swap, communication etc please ask in the discussion thread or send the organizer a pm.

As organizer I reserve the right to refuse any applicant based on poor feedback.

If you want to participate, information to send to organizer AND co-organizer:

Yes - I can now post the wonderful items my partner sent me!
She took inspiration from my love of 'jewel' colours.

First up - a lovely snugly hat that was labeled as 'Amethyst' (we had snow Wednesday and yesterday, and it kept me lovely and warm  Cheesy)

and a scarf to go with it

.

And my favourite item- another scarf, this time 'Topaz'

It is lovely and soft and so tactile  Grin Grin!

THANK YOU so much RebeccaJay - this was a great swap and I love the items I received!

Finally got me, the ATC's and a camera (unfortunately it's my phone camera as we still can't find the 'proper' one) together along with some time without little fingers around!

First up - from jenleahlynn: the front

which opened out to this wonderful piece:

Next up from pilarfarmer:
A lovely card

But this

ISN'T the ATC- it's just the envelope!!!

THIS is the ATC:

Finally from Dreadlady:

This is a replacement as her first card got lost in the post Sad.

Thank you SO much ladies - I love all ATC's, and I'm sorry it's taken so long to post pictures.

24  journaling prompts swap in New Swap Theme Ideas by mini_mum on: September 07, 2012 04:35:08 AM
hi,

Came across this idea on another site and wondered if anyone would be interested.

Basically you alter playing cards - put a journalling prompt on one side and 'do' the prompt on the other. We all end up with lots of different prompts and lots of ideas for using them.

25  Re: Stuff an Envelope Swap (INTERNATIONAL) rd 2 - GALLERY in The Swap Gallery by mini_mum on: August 08, 2012 01:41:47 PM
Figured I'd better get my backside into gear and post pictures of the envies I received from Smmarrt and dewshinesdopp!

Firstly smmarrt:
Print offs of vintage photos, chipboard elements, plain stickers, felt apple buttons, buttons, collage items - fish, butterflies, birds, bird eggs, fairies in jars (!) and people.

Do you know who the people in the vintage photos are Susan?

tickets of various types, luggage tags & envelopes, Tim Holtz Ideology labels, game cards, vintage library cards (remember using something similar when I was young!), patches, thread and an envelope labelled 'Look inside!'

And when I looked inside:

Keys!!

and a lovely blue glassine envelope with bird cutouts, a hand sewn felt broach (pin) and a small notebook with an up cycled coffee sleeve as a cover.

And from Dewshinesdopp.

I had been warned that there wasn't much in the way of supplies - but look at all these stickers!

a teddy bear punch and some sparkly green chipboard elements also snuck in there! I think the 2 monkeys on the right are my 2 boys in disguise - the grins are certainly cheeky enough!

And then there was this:

Matching earrings, bracelet and necklace. I ADORE these! especially the butterfly Grin

And the 'stamps' on the envelope are definitely being kept!

FINALLY - I remembered to take pictures of the package I received from my esteemed co-org Smiley

Firstly - the envelope - I love the snail and the washi tape on the corners.

Now the contents:

some scrummy papers, ribbons, book pages,  post-it notes with keys on, stamps (postal), stamps (rubber), stickers (for Scott & Miles me thinks), art journal page (Sweet Dreams), postcards, washi tape, a booklet about washi tape, jewellery findings, some charms and 2 little envelopes

The postal stamps:

including some olympic related, fairy tales - Pinocchio and Snow-white and one Scouting.

The journal page, hand carved stamps and contents of one of the little envies - hand stamped stickers

and the last envelope hid this:

A little paper 'Happy Birthday' bunting. I shall be making use of this next month Smiley

Thank you Christina - I love everything you sent Grin

And I received!!

Sparkledust has done a wonderful job, and I love EVERYTHING!!

BEWARE - PICTURE OBESE

The unopened parcel:

Two wonderful monster bags for the boys. Just love the fabrics used - love that they are the same pattern in different colour ways.

Even DH was impressed with the bags - especially when I showed him the extra special additions:

How wonderful are those?? Just fabulous!

Lastly a little something for me:

Sparkledust was worried about the fabric on this one - but used it because the of the quality of the fabric (light weight canvas). I don't know why she was worried - yes, there is nothing like it on my pinterest, but then I wasn't pinning for this kind of thing! - and I LOVE it!

the inside

opened out

It's even got a pocket!!

I love it, love it, love it!!!

THANK YOU SO much Rhiannan Smiley All I need now its to find my knitting needles, so they can move into their new home!

oh - I almost forgot, there was also this:

It didn't last long  Grin Grin Grin Grin
