11  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: "Lace Pattern Top", Swedish Translation on: November 20, 2006 08:23:18 AM

What a pretty top!  Smiley

This is .. this is just so right Wink Fits you beautifully. Plus, congratulations on speaking Swedish .. unless you are a Swede which would make it a common thing .. but you probably are not, because why would you then translate anything from Swedish .. Ha, anyway, very nice lace.

ETA: What on earth is a pfuglemnster, anyway ? Roll Eyes

Well, I don't speak Swedish at all, so I worked the translation roughly from a knitting dictionary from garnstudio.com and some free online translations.  pfuglemnster isn't a work i know... do you mean pfglemnster?  That seems to be the swedish equivalent of "lace pattern"

Well, I thought I could help you sort out the language question...since I happen to be swedish.. Cheesy   pfgel is peacock in english, and mnster means pattern. So you were almost right!  Wink  (And the description in the link is in danish..)

13  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: panta! (from a finnish pattern). on: November 01, 2006 10:15:08 AM

Here is my panta! I finished it about 6 months ago...but I'm lazy when it comes to posting pictures of my stuff.   Tongue  I didn't make it as wide as it is supposed to be because I liked it better this way.

How many stitches did you CO? Can you share your variation?

Thanks,
Candice

If I remember correctly (I can't find my panta so I had to look at the photo and the pattern to figure it out) I just removed one "rib/stripe section" which in the beginning of the pattern is: k2, p1.

So instead of casting on 19 st I started out with 16 st. Then just follow the pattern as normal. This will give you 5 "stripes" instead of 6. Nothing complicated really.  Smiley

It's still quite wide but that's probably because my knitting tension back then was quite loose.

Good luck with your panta!

It looks great and the colours are gorgeous! The yarn looks like "Dover" from Idna, is it?

Looks great! Your "zipper ends" looks so clean, I have been trying to figure out how to do that...do you just sew on an extra piece of fabric to the end of the zipper? (like the second picture shows)
