I've got one project done. A second backfired on me today because of bad fabric choice so I'll be digging out some different fabric choice and trying again tomorrow. Hopefully I'll get everything finished up this weekend.
Two lovely dresses and a cape for my dolls! (modeled by Holly and Poppy)
I kid you not, I have been eyeballing the very same teapot fabric at my work for ages and trying to decide whether to buy some! It's just so adorable! So I was really excited to see a doll dress made from it!
Here's the heart dress without the cape on so you can see the neckline:
Some Monster High stickers and pins:
And I can now say I'm a Monster High collector as well as Ever After High, because amigurl also sent me an Operetta doll!
The Phantom of the Opera is one of my favorite classic novels and I love Operetta's design, so I'm excited to have her join my collection! Thanks for an awesome swap package!
I'm just now getting the chance to actually start working on my things. Homework is absolutely murdering me this semester. The good news is that my experimental thing I wanted to try looks like it is going to work out well, so that's great!
Re-roots are so time consuming! I learned how to make fur wigs for my Monster High dolls and they look pretty cute.
The reroot didn't take me as long as I'd anticipated- I think I'd read so much online about how time-consuming they can be that I was expecting much worse! I enjoyed it. I've been thinking about trying out yarn wigs as an option sometime too.
This week's really busy for me school-wise so I'm doing planning for swap items right now and will probably make a supply run this weekend.
I received a wonderful angel package from gotgrey today! Here's everything together!
I received a lovely Rapunzel doll! She's got her short hair from the end of the movie because I absolutely love the way Rapunzel looks with short hair, and her face was hand-drawn with colored pencils, which gotgrey said was a first for her! It turned out great!
There were three hand-drawn "Gravity Falls" pictures based on pictures I'd shared on pinterest. I can't wait to add them to my art wall (they're currently flattening under a book since they were rolled up for safe travels)!
A Wreck-It Ralph hoopla:
And a lovely decorated trinket box inspired by Frozen! It's lovely and sparkly with snowflakes on the top, and says "That's no blizzard, that's my sister!" around the sides! The inside is even sparkly and pretty!
There was also a surprise for me inside the trinket box. I was was warned the box might be a little difficult to get open, and that did prove to be the case, but a little bit of help from a nail file wedged into the gap got it open! (It also scraped a little bit of the paint off on the edge where I had worked with it, but oh well.) Inside was a Disney travel lanyard and a Disneyland pin!
Thank you so much for taking the time to put together such a lovely angel package for me! I really appreciate it!!
