WE RECEIVED!!!
OMG - the kids have outDONE themselves. What a happy household I have tonight!!

First of all, let me just say that none of us have ever received a gift from out of the country, so this:

blew our minds!

Both kids got adorable pop-up cards.

And here we are with our FAB ornaments!

Sydney decided her ornament needed to go on her special tree in her room. It definitely matches!

Dylan got..wait for it...
DEVIL STICKS!!

He is so excited. He'd never seen them before, but his dad and I have been trying our skills (okay, okay, he gets them back now...) and now he can't WAIT to prove himself on them!! I had a set years ago that my brother and I practiced with daily......Evidently those skills did not carry over into my adult years because I've made a great fool of myself already -- and with much more to come, I'm sure!

Sydney has received a set of handmade pink and black pom-poms!! You would have thought she had died and gone to heaven!

Thank you SO much, Nyssa, Kayla, and Nicole! What a great way to end today!

**Side note...All of my pics are sideways. Sorry about that. =\ **

2  Altering Phiten Tornado Necklace - Need Help! in Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions by mjnovak on: October 09, 2011 09:36:48 AM
Hello, Ladies & Gents!
I'm sorry if I'm posting this in the wrong spot -- Mods, please let me know!

My s-son is turning 11 in a few days. He is a sports fanatic and, as such, has recently become obsessed with these Phiten Tornado necklaces.

They are essentially just two twisted strands.

Their available sizing goes down to 18", but I can never seem to find these in the stores. I have found the larger sizes and, of course, feel like I should be able to alter them!
Is anyone able to look at the picture and suggest how I might alter it? I have read some blogs on the subject about braiding single strands to take up length, but I thought some more experienced Craftsters might have some good ideas for this double strand.

All help appreciated!
