1  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Re: New symbol tree with copic markers on: November 04, 2011 08:17:48 AM
This is utterly stunning. I looove how twisted and knotty the branches are, and the fossils under the roots are an incredible touch. Wonderful job.
2  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / I only have two years to make this wedding dress! on: November 04, 2011 07:23:44 AM
My best friend is getting married on October 31, 2013 and she is graciously allowing me to make her wedding dress (and cake!). We've discussed what she wants the dress to look like and I've drawn it all out, but I can't find a good pattern to mess with. I don't typically use patterns, but for something like this I'd like to have a starting point and alter from there.

This is basically the kind of dress we're looking to find a pattern for:

She's looking for the strapless, sweetheart neckline and the button up back. The train is not necessary, and everything else I can alter and fiddle with myself. Can anyone think of a pattern like this? I once saw a vogue pattern that I think might work, but it was years ago and I can't seem to find it now  Huh

Any/all help is appreciated!

Your patience is truly commendable; I think I'd be done after the first sequin. I love the addition of the stars.

Fabulous dress! The way it's tucked and poofed makes it look like one solid piece instead of a top and skirt.

Annnnd your hair is wonderful, too.
5  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Re: Navarathri 9 New Outfits in one snap! Individual Outfit Snaps Added on: November 04, 2011 06:59:43 AM
I wish I could pick a favorite! I love the coloring of the ninth outfit, but the saree from day 6 is stunning as well.

I absolutely adore the combination of colors, fabrics and patterns you used for all of them.

Oh bah! The more I look at Day 1, the closer it comes to being my favorite.

This dress is perfect for that fabric, and I love the matching lace detail. Perhaps someone else has asked this already, but I'm curious about how long the dress is. I imagine it would look stunning as a floor length gown or a cocktail dress.

That is all.

Absolutely lovely! I'm actually planning on cranking out a couple of Ren Faire costumes today! I love the simplicity of the style as well as the beautiful earthy tones. It looks absolutely fabulous on you!

This is stunning. I love, love, love anything remotely autumnesque, but this is so charming.

I was just at an art faire and saw a similar piece (the biggest difference was the placement of the leaves; they were used as a border rather than over the whole piece, and there was only one kind of leaf) being sold for $80. Just thought you should know...

I'm not participating, but I want to beg everyone who does to take photos of their stuffies with tiny animals.
