2453  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Pet Swap Gallery on: August 27, 2005 01:57:18 PM
Oh my gosh I just realized I didn't add something. It's a bottle of wine! It's so cute it has a custom label on it that says Falcor's 2005 Private Reserve with a picture of him that I've posted on here. I can't believe I forgot to post it...so forgetful at times. Thanks again dogrrl!
2454  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Re: "I Can't Make That" on: August 26, 2005 07:07:58 PM
I think this sounds like a really good idea! I've participated in four swaps I wouldn't mind organizing it. When would people be interested in starting sign ups?
2455  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Re: Candle making questions on: August 25, 2005 04:43:32 PM
Check your local library for some books, or your local books-a-million/barns and nobles to sneak a look, lol. You do mean the whole candle sha bang right, like a double boiler, wax, wicks, molds, etc?
For the most part it's fairly simple, melt was in the double boiler, make sure it's not to hot cause it can catch fire! I'm going by memory here but I think the danger point is around 200 degrees. Center the wick in the mold or container you are using (it's easier if you have the wicks with the little metal things on the bottom and glue them onto the jar), and pour and let harden. The wicks in my opinion is the hardest part because they can drift before the candle starts to harden.
Or you can do the dip candle which is a bit time consuming, just dip your wick into the wax as many times as it takes for desired thickness. This is fun to do with different colored wax.
Hope this gives you the basic idea at least!
2456  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Re: glass-less photo frames? on: August 25, 2005 04:22:48 PM
Hang a piece of well whatever that you couldn't put in a frame (thinking 3-D objects here) you want then hang the frame over it.
Or if you don't want to spend money on glass get a clear piece of vinyl and staple it inside of the frame.
2457  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: My country doesn't have that!! on: August 25, 2005 03:58:30 PM
I'm just now getting my photos up of the package that littleoddforest sent me, sorry it's taken so long but here's the loot.

Theres cool Japanese stationary, some pages from her local news magazine, a food guide for tourists that everything looks so good in everytime I look at it it get hungry, some neato bandaids, and a page from an antique book in Chinese brush stokes which are going to make it into a frame for my bedroom we have an Asian inspired bedroom.
And here's a close up picture of my kick ass coin purse that I'm in love with, two keychains and a tiny gold barrel that had candy in it(I've ate it all already, lol). You can also see some of the food from the food guide. So yummy!

Thank you everything is awesome!
2458  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Re: Rustic looking outside bird cage? on: August 25, 2005 12:38:07 AM
I saw this one some one changed into a letter holder/organizer. Only they used a real bird cage. It was so neat! They added a shelf in the middle and the slats were used to separate the paper.

I love badges! Never earned any my self though. Make them into coasters. Since they're all round they'd be perfect, just add something to the back like paperboard or something to make them stiffer.
Or sell them I saw one on ebay that said "got cookies" I wanted it so bad but the lady would only sell it in a lot of like 20 so it was a no go.
