41  Re: Ruby and Sapphire Dragonets in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by lady4feet on: February 23, 2011 05:47:14 PM
So finally finished my dragon. I got the pattern last year to make one for my Hubby for Christmas and two months later I'm finished, lol. I got the movie "How to train your dragon" for him and the crocheted dragon was meant to be given at the same time...but I'm a slow worker.

Modified a bit from the pattern. I used the yarn I had on hand, so it was a bit thinner then worsted weight. I also used safety eyes because that's what I had on hand and didn't do the wing lines. I did the wing lines in one wing, they were wonky and a bit of a pain so I ripped them out and skipped them all together. I do think they would've looked better with them but I really just wanted to be done.

mmm those cookies look so yummy.

aliasgracie, the coolest stepmom ever, lol, I take it the receiver was very happy. I've been wanting to make a zombie defense station but don't really have anywhere to display it so it keeps getting pushed to the back burner.

Finished my holiday bunting/garland project, for Valentines day, I realised today that V-day is tomorrow so I had to hurry up and finish. Recycled materials, the hearts are two pieces of cardstock cut from old cards (am I the only one who saves every card they're given?) glued together, then covered with pages from an old book that I crumpled to give it a more aged look. I also tore the pages off to get a ragged edge.

Hanging up

Close up, I'm not a heart person and normally don't like Valentine day decorations but I'm really loving these hearts.

eclecticdreamer I love the mario wallet, best gift card holder ever.

silver your shaw is beautiful, hopefully you'll get to wear it despite the heat.

always I love the color of your boots. And thank you for keeping track of this craft-along as fast as it's been growing this year I'm sure it's a job and half.

Here's two more for me. Framed my diploma, was hoping to do this cheaper but when I went thrifting I couldn't find a frame I needed but I did find a frame on clearance at Michael's so even with the matt and spray paint it was under $25. Nothing fancy, it was originally going to be something more but that idea got knicked.

This wasn't going to be a project but it morphed into a shelf so I decided to sub it in for a project had listed twice. The dog butts came from Ikea but we have masonry walls which means it takes forever to drill holes. Originally I was just going to put them a board but after poking around Ana Whites blog I decided to make a shelf instead. All from scrap wood I had on hand, paint, glue, nails and hangers also on hand Smiley Oh and the off color spot on the wall is where I took something off the wall and have yet to paint.

I'm glad your liked everything Pirate, feel better soon. If you'd like me to post pics let me know.

Here is my haul from PirateColey, I feel so spoiled Smiley First I have to apologize for the crappy pics. It was incredibly dreary out today so the lighting sucked. This also meant I couldn't get a good group photo so brace yourself for an overload of crappy pics, lol.

Ornaments

Magnets

Hoopla and some adorable toadstool pins, the paper they're on is wood print.

Scrabble coasters!! Love these Smiley

Ribbon and painted ceramic turtle box

Christmas books, the one on the right doubles as a calender.

Felt sushi roll

but wait theres something awesome about this sushi roll...it turns into a fish! This is so cute I was playing with it all morning

Earrings, see the turtles? They're so freaking cute.

Turtle necklace, cupcake keychain, raindeer earrings and some chap stick, chocolate chap stick, yum.

And last but not least a purse (this is my gift item), I love the fabric.

Whew, that's a lot of pictures. Thanks again PirateColey I love everything.

Always don't forget to post the link when you post in the crochet thread, I really want to see the back.

Made an apron, nothing fancy but now hopefully I'll remember to wear it and save some of my clothes from stains. The "fabric" is made from some ribbon I bought for a dollar, I just sewed it together.

So many great projects have been posted while I've been busy with school. Wish I could say I've gotten more projects done while being swamped with projects and tests but I just got these two done this weekend.

Fortune cookie necklace, inspired by these http://www.amypetersstudio.com/index.php?c=showsection&id=149 On to see how it hangs. I'm pretty happy with it.

Close up. The fortune is one I got years ago. Stamped onto shrinky dinks and the cookie is made of polymer clay.

Laptop cover, used this tute http://www.skiptomylou.org/2010/07/29/laptop-sleeve/

Lining fabric, I didn't have fusible interface so I used some scrap batting and did a decorative stitch on the lining so the batting was attached.

So happy my laptop will be protected while in my bookbag now Smiley

Not happy with this one at all. Poo-bag holder for walks with the dogs. Wanted a stream-line holder for a ID/wallet side and a bag side but instead ended up with it all being one and ruining some cute fabric. Oh well the end product holds a poo bag and the essential ID's so I guess it's ok.

*just wanted to say that my cutting table isn't that yucky, it's more the angle of the pic*
