1  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / First attempt at steampunk on: October 02, 2011 05:46:08 PM
This is my first attempt... could be better, but I'm mildly satisfied with it.
2  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Art Journal - my first try on: September 20, 2011 10:46:34 AM
After seeing everything on the paper craft forum yesterday, I had to run out get the supplies I didn't have (needles, heavy card stock) to make an art journal. I've never bound a book before and I stayed up until 2am last night finishing it up. I used watercolor paper for the signatures, four groups of two folded together, and heavy card stock for the the cover. I followed this tute for coptic binding - http://www.tortagialla.com/2010/08/16/chain-or-coptic-stitch-bookbinding-tutorial/

Here is the front cover:

This is the inside of the front cover, which isn't finished yet:

This is the back cover:

The inside of the back cover: (don't mind my grey leg..lol)

And a close-up of the map on the inside back cover: (don't mind my grey leg..again)

All the maps and faded pamphlet papers are old things my grandma had saved up, the ledger dates back to 1917 and the war stamps are from 1942. This thing was insanely fun to make, and I'm not even finished yet! Let me know what you guys think Smiley
