I've posted a few more patterns and towels that I stitched up as quick Christmas Gifts.  They make the perfect hostess gift.

http://destashification.com/2012/12/20/destashification-christmas-day-six-huck-towels/  Finishing these depleted my Stash of Huck Toweling Fabric - but the stash of embroidery thread seems to be self-replicating!

6  Hand Quilted Floor Pillows in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by destashification on: December 20, 2012 05:38:35 AM
Christmas presents for family with 4 children...

Designed to match the decor and color scheme of their family room - these pillows were made with the full knowledge that they will support more than heads and neck.  Typical use will include dinner plates, nail polish remover, cereal bowls, computers and the occasional math book, so they needed to be sturdy and machine wash and dry.

The motifs were enlarged on a copier to fit the large (26") pillows and transferred using Saral transfer paper onto pre-washed (because, like almost all home dec fabric - the label says "Dry Clean Only" but it doesn't really mean it) polyester fabric.

The hand-quilting was completed in a few hours.  The pillow was constructed with a zipper and a lining (so it can be easily washed) and are ready for a few years of hard use!

7  Sew a replacement watchband in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by destashification on: July 27, 2012 01:02:08 PM
Just some ribbon and about 20 minutes - and a new watchband!

Simple to make.
Sew a decorative ribbon to a grosgrain ribbon.  Turn raw ends under once
Slip clasp onto one end and stitch end down.
Secure other end.

Viola!
A new watchband in "no time!"  (pun intended)

8  When the jelly roll just doesn't work in Quilting: Completed Projects by destashification on: June 23, 2012 07:10:02 PM

Thought the jelly roll was perfect - it was not.

The Stash came to the rescue and the 16-year old daughter loves the result!

She wanted it to coordinate with a modern art painting she is working on that will hang over her bed.

With all the seam ripping and recutting, I think I made this quilt twice!  But the result was worth it.

Uploaded the pattern for this quilt at: http://destashification.com/2012/06/27/squares-and-stripes-quilt-pattern/

9  Modern Monochromatic Quilt in Quilting: Completed Projects by destashification on: June 11, 2012 11:21:48 PM

Wanted to try monochromatic...it was difficult to be restricted to greys and blacks, but the recipient's entire apartment is these (lack of) colors, so it should work.

Succumbed to need for color by adding a 1" square of purple in lower right corner.

Its all packaged and ready to travel to Long Arm Quilter.

10  Huck Towel Embroidery (Swedish Weaving) How-to in Needlework: Completed Projects by destashification on: May 27, 2012 07:16:37 AM

Huck Towel Embroidery is a simple way to create very intricate looking towels for gifts and gets.  Total project costs are typically less than $7!  And since the needle used is blunt - a perfect early craft project for a child or teen!

If anyone would like to give it a try (Warning:  It is addictive!), I posted some general how-to's for the design below on my blog:  http://destashification.com/2012/05/27/huck-how-to/

Enjoy!
