761  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Terribly Important SOB Swap II - (SU - Jan20 SO - Feb 27) on: January 09, 2012 11:39:54 AM
Thank you so much, oh gloriously educated one!  I couldn't begin to calculate by price.  I have so much stash that if I tried to keep track of what I spent, DH (henceforth known as "Keeper of the Pursestrings") would have a canary and send the dogs out for my hiney Smiley

I am curious about something:  I read the FAQ and it says that sizes can be determined mulitple ways-  are we using size, price, or time?

I am not actually ~in~, but I often see the size, but never a specific regarding which way it is being decided.

Forgive me, I'm a NOOB...plus, I couldn't think of apropriately "important" terminology for the question Smiley

765  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Stuff an Envelope Swap (INTERNATIONAL) (SU to 16/1 sendouts by 30/1) FULL!! on: January 09, 2012 09:34:59 AM
(making excuses)

Things don't have to be even, you know... well, um...

I went online, and found out the max weights for each place, and...well... I went under max weight for both international ones, and would have been fine on the USA one, except for the dumb non-machinable thing...

Mailed the two internationals today- Gavagai and Mini_mum yours are on the way.  I hope you like them.  I sent them from my local post office which is a smaller branch- 2 employees.  Because it's so small, it is usually an extra day or two- so...sometime next week, maybe?

Mom2em:  Because I was over ($1.28 for postage and non-machinable) do you want me to skim down, or just have the extra?  It doesn't matter to me.

Am I going to get negative feedback for being over the weight limit?  It technically ~fits~ in the envelope...  Roll Eyes

SO adorable!  Makes me want to start cross stitching again...DH would hurt me if I took on something new when I have a closet   (okay, room) full of stuff to finish!

Well now I've re-done everything, and I'm ready to send! My envelopes are completely packed, so I *might* have gone over a bit on postage. Whoops. Oh well! So long as my partners like them I'm happy!

I feel the same way.  I mail mine out tomorrow, so I will know then just how much of a bad girl I am.  I will probably wind up needing a few lashes with ye old wet noodle.

Thank you thank you! Maybe we need to see if Knickertwist is up for hosting a round 2?

That would be awesome!  Especially since I saw yours and was inspired to start two- count them, two! One in silver, and one in gold.  Smiley

To be honest, I actually am a little afraid of disappointing my swap partners.  The envelopes are ~STUFFED~, no fear on that end.  But, my crafting skills are...random?  I love to try new things, and I do, and then I worry, worry, worry that it isn't going to be good enough.

Add to that a DH, DD, and DS who are exxtra (yes the additional X is there on purpose) attentive to detail and will point out errors...well, I worry.

I found myself this morning wanting to tear all the envelopes open and redo it all over again.  Haven't done that so far.
