31  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Re: My first Teesha Moore patch on: May 12, 2016 05:40:29 AM
I made it parallelogram because I wanted to get all of the butterflies in.  The two fabrics are two pairs of capri pants that I got from a friend in a "here, use this for something" bag.

I plan on making a few coordinating patches using the reverse fabric, too.  It's very tropical with leaves and pineapples on it.

Question to anyone who does these...are you supposed to do the beads and stuff first?  Because I don't like the strings sticking out of the back of the patch.  Tongue

I have been loving these TM things when they show up.  I think they are amazing, and have always coveted them.

Well, due to circumstances that were totally under my control, I can't swap anymore, so now getting all of the cool nifty things is all on me instead of just "covet this and hope someone does it".  Edit:  it sounds like I'm whining.  I don't mean to.  I truly am totally okay with not swapping.  Smiley

On the down side: I don't get to swap very often, and can't get really cool things from others.  Sad

On the up side:  I am digging in and learning to do the new crafts that fascinate me so much.  Smiley

Anyway, Here is my first attempt at a TM patch.  It's a little wonky and crooked, and I think that I did things out of order, but...hey, it's mine and I think it's pretty decent and will work well for the gift it is intended to become.

*looks at calendar, does quick math in the head, has slight nervous breakdown*

I see that I am...13 days behind in posting my things-a-day.  Tongue  In my defense, I got slightly sick, and then got roped into an impromptu camping trip with my puppy for the first time in weather that, for Florida, is abysmally cold.  I am still several days behind in my actual crafting.  I hope to catch up this week.

So, I will LIST the thngs I have done, and get around to posting eventually.

Thing 3 (belated thing 1) is happily sitting by my side- still undone.  But, I at least now have the things I need to complete it.  Eventually, I will actually do so.  Fortunately, it's a Thanksgiving item, so... Tongue

Thing 4:  My daughter sprained her ankle, so we found her some crutches.  They were, as expected, not comfortable, so we created new covers for them.  I will never post the pictures, because they are awful.  I will, however, openly admit that they were created involving a combination of the following:  old washcloths, duct tape, pantyliners that were purchased by mistake, a hot glue gun and felt.  My new name should be "Mistress MacGuyver" Smiley

Things 5 and 6:  Camping.  This, in an of itself is an adventure.  I have pretty major back issues, and tend to simply hibernate during our colder months.  I personally am claiming it as two things:  camping itself, and surviving camp breakdown.  Smiley

So many lovely things made out of yarn.  I know you are tired of hats.  But...  I think I would be super happy to know how to do that.

I have zero skill in the yarn-ish arts, which makes me sad, because I ADORE yarnish arts.
