I have been a complete slacker about reading posts.  I will read and comment later today, because I can't wait to see all the awesome stuff everyone has made.  Smiley

O.O  I go away for three days and you guys explode with the awesomeness!   There are so many yarny goodness things on here that I have no words.
That adorable little purple outfit is so cute!   My mom used to dress me in those things when I was little.  The tops were reversible and they had matching hats.  There's a picture of me in one of them that I swear my mother took 82 shots of, because it's very clear that I HATED that outfit.  It was denim with a mustard yellow paisley duck on it.  The 70's...what can I say?

I have actually been getting quite a bit accomplished.  I got rid of a gallon size zip lock bag of beads that I knew I would never use (gave to a friend).  I have made 5 new things for the "to be sold' pile.  Add that to the rst of the stuff that needs photos and posted.  Tongue

I found the material I am going to use for daughter's Renaissance/Steampunk cosplay skirt.  That isn't "Steampunk Renaissance"-  that's "interchangeable skirt for when she's working the local Renaissance festival with her father and also for use with her Steampunk cosplay".   Just in case you were envisioning a Renaissance dress with gears on it.  Smiley  Which... now that I've said it...that's pretty cool...Hmmm...

I'll post "brag photos" later this week.

oops, I like the idea of kbrison liking the idea of kookaloo's! Grin

Most of my real life friends do not craft at all, so they would consider my stash as hoarding and try to get rid of it! I find it interesting that when they need a sewn item, they come to me...if I did not have the stuff in my stash, I would have to charge them...so really, a stash helps me give them something for labor costs (usually a free lunch somewhere nice!). Grin

Isn't that always how it works?

I have a lot of friends who craft, but they never seem to have the supplies "on hand", or they just don't have the time to make something, so could I just...?  It's almost like I have become their  "go to" craft store and gift provider.

It's mildly aggravating to me, because those are generally the same friends who don't appreciate the "hand made" gifts come gift giving season.

4  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Re: Stash Swap on: January 19, 2015 04:49:19 AM
I would love to.  I can't until I get my second chance swap resolved though.  I personally love the supply swaps as much as, if not more than, the crafting swaps.  Smiley

I COMPLETELY understand that Dewshine  Roll Eyes I'm debating this swap myself but in the mean time my pinterest is getting quite a bit bigger thanks to those wonderful FOC lists  Wink Cheesy Sickness seems to strike just when I think I'm doing OK on swaps. Maybe that's a sign D: Or maybe I should just not do so many cloth projects so it's not a problem  Roll Eyes

For me it's not a debate.  I have a negative, because random life events causing my world to fall apart.  Wasn't able to complete the swap.  I NEED the positive, even if I never join a swap again.  That negative stares me in the face and makes me feel like a terrible person.
6  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Stitchalongs / Re: Hoopla A-Long 2013-2015 on: January 19, 2015 04:45:10 AM
I have started and stopped stitching tons of times, and each time this lovely group of people inspire me to pick it back up again.  And I am always so glad that I do.

To me, it is therapeutic.  There is something so...good...about watching it come together.  It makes me feel like I have accomplished something.

I've been splitting my time between a hoopla for the "second chance swap" and the huge hope chest cover.  I really want to Make something "fun" for my hoopla wall, but it is not yet time. I must finish my "chores" before I get to play.

There are so many amazing things posted here!  All of you with your yarns and your hooplas and...I am so jealous that I can't post anything as "completed" yet.  Seriously though, you all are SO AMAZING!

I have gotten the "carry over" from the dreaded hazmat infested craft room cleaned up.  I have a "fireplace room" clean and livable, and 3/4 of my dining room table is back to clean and usable.  The rest will be cleaned up today.

I have also organized and sorted my embroidery flosses and given the extras to my daughter- along with all of her "crafting cord' from when she was obsessed with making friendship bracelets.

I have also gotten a bunch of papers that there was no way I was ever actually using taken to my son's art teacher, along with a bunch of unused cards of types that I will never send.

I also got my patterns organized and have picked out the one I am starting with.  It's been way too many years since I touched a machine so I am starting out relatively easy with a simple t-tunic for my son.  So, it's even something off the list.  YAY ME! Tongue

O.O  SO MUCH TALENT in this group!  So much productivity.  I, however, have been a complete slacker.  I have successfully organized about half of my embroidery floss into the nifty little organizer Hubster got for me. I need a second one.  I did NOT think I had so much floss... Tongue

That Icicle Tiara has gotten me thinking...Ice Fairy? Fire Fairy?  Goodness knows I have plenty of icicles, in blue, gold, silver, and I think even a metallic orange, due to my son's massive love for all things orange.    Hmmm...  Of course that means digging them out of the Christmas stuff...I do believe that will get added to the "want to do someday" list.

I was inspired to pull out the box of random paper-ish things and turn a bunch of the pieces that I know I shall never use as they are and turn them into ATC blanks and inchie blanks.
Some were just colors that I will never use, others were from a "kids crafting day" a few summers ago, when the kidlets and I made bookmarks and things with card stock and shaving cream and food coloring.  A bunch of fun, and some pretty cool looking backgrounds for ATCs now that I have done it.

It's not a huge "destashing"  but it is better for organizing.  So hopefully that counts for something.  Smiley

Shocked My OCD went haywire at the beauty of those nicely sorted little paper pieces.  That is beautiful  That is art.  That is amazing!

I have lots of little boxes for my beading/jewelry supplies.  Unfortunately, the aforementioned OCD seems to be completely confused about HOW to sort it all. Then the attention span decides to Squirrel and so much for sorting.  It's a night mare.

Today I am travelling and will be taking my table cloth with me to embroider.  Hopefully some will be done soon.
