I made a scarf out of this really cool yarn.  I thought at first it was just white and blue with a little bit of brown.  But...this is the weirdest yarn ball I have ever worked with.  Of course, since it's the first yarn ball I have really worked with, I guess that isn't saying much.

But, really.  It's got brown and tan and blue and green and white and...sections that are one inch white and one inch black???

There is no rhyme or reason to this yarn, and I completely LOVE it.

That baby hat I made last week?  I think it's going to be taken apart and become a bigger hat with what is left in order to match this awesome scarf.

I have done things!   Shocked

Not only have I moved the nigthmare of a craft room into an entirely different nightmare of a room, I have done crafty things, too!

My son informed me 2 hours before school that he needed a hippie costume for groovy week.

Fortuntately, I am a confirmed crafting hoarder.
Before his very eyes, love beads

a fringed vest that was put together in 5 minutes using a t-shirt as a "fake it til you make it" pattern

We also "tie-dyed" an orange t-shirt by twisting it, rubber banding it, and sticking it in bleach water for a few minutes.  No pictures, though.  He liked it and hid it.

I have also successfully (finally after 4 years) used my loom knit thing for the first time.

The loom knit people lie when they say "hat sized".  Unless you are making hats for newborns or dolls. Fortunately, "second daughter", otherwise known as my daughter's BFFFFF (because there just aren't enough forevers in BFF) actually Does make dolls.  So, a hat for one of her dolls, and I move up a ring in the set.

YAY ME!  I crafted the things!

I have been off radar for awhile.  Things have been...stressful at home, and are about to become even moreso.  But, I have indeed been crafting.  I just haven't been posting. Or taking photos. Or...well...anyway.

Here are two completed projects that I actually DID think to take photos of to post.  Smiley

I made a little hoopla for my Halloween Hoopla wall.

My first Teesha Moore patch.  I'm not thrilled with the stitching, but I definitely enjoyed making it.

4  Glowing web hoopla in Needlework: Completed Projects by dewshinesdopp on: May 13, 2016 03:27:40 AM
I was at the thrift store and ran across this piece of Fabric for a quarter, and fell in love with the too cute monsters and spiders, all sitting on a web.

There wasn't a lot of it.  Something a bit more than a fat quarter, but less than a half yard.  I cut most of it up into a fat quarter, and a smallish piece was left.

That piece stared at me on my desk for a few days, saying "PST!  You need to make a hoopla...hoopla...Hoopla...HOOPLA!"

So, I grabbed the glow thread and did a simple stitching of the web.  Really simple, but it's going to be cute as a button on my Halloween Hoopla wall.

Sadly, it is sideways.  Tongue

5  My first Teesha Moore patch in Needlework: Completed Projects by dewshinesdopp on: May 11, 2016 02:23:20 AM
I have been loving these TM things when they show up.  I think they are amazing, and have always coveted them.

Well, due to circumstances that were totally under my control, I can't swap anymore, so now getting all of the cool nifty things is all on me instead of just "covet this and hope someone does it".  Edit:  it sounds like I'm whining.  I don't mean to.  I truly am totally okay with not swapping.  Smiley

On the down side: I don't get to swap very often, and can't get really cool things from others.  Sad

On the up side:  I am digging in and learning to do the new crafts that fascinate me so much.  Smiley

Anyway, Here is my first attempt at a TM patch.  It's a little wonky and crooked, and I think that I did things out of order, but...hey, it's mine and I think it's pretty decent and will work well for the gift it is intended to become.

I can't believe I made TWO things in one day.  I may shock myself if I keep this up.  Smiley

Thing 2 is still not the thing that was supposed to be thing 1.   Roll Eyes

But, it's still completed, and I am still pretty proud of it.

Oh my gosh!  Dulcet, those are the cutest!

ActsofCraftiness:  Your cross stitches are amazing!  I have never been able to make my stitches even like that- even when using aida.  Tongue

Thing 1, from yesterday is not complete.  Somehow, I successfully have 6 huge totes of fabric, a broken sewing machine and no fusible webbing.  So, that will become Thing 2, instead.

In any case my NEW thing 1 was completed on day 2.  It's the dreaded year too late WIP I spoke of.

Okay, so the Abbie has a long and depressing story with her.  The tl;dr is that I was hip deep in making her when something happened.  Upside:  I got a diagnosis.  Down side:  I am permanently banned from swapping.  But that's okay.  Because I now know WHY I kept randomly having problems completing things in my life.

Here she is, a year too late, but done:
