11  Re: Over 30 Geezer-licious Geezer Swap Round 5 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by Saintcady on: August 03, 2012 10:16:28 PM
Both those guys are way cute, but I especially love the mounted Nessie!

Ok, my turn. I am totally in love with my package. Prepare to be jealous. One of the ideas on my list was a customizable advent calendar. Something I can put notes or cards in, like "go see the holidays lights" or "wrap a gift" to get us all seasonal without the candy. Well, PurplePaisley took the idea and made it way bigger and more awesome! Behold my custom quilted calendar!!

It has 31(!) pockets, a place for a curtain rod in the top to hang it, and all twelve months on different signs. Each pocket has edge stitching, little rosettes with button, and glittery numbers!

Yeah, each month also has hand-beaded letters and coordinating themed fabric. Seriously.

They're laying on the back of the calendar, which is also pretty.

I haven't picked where it's going to hang yet, but be sure it will get a very important spot. I hadn't even thought about something that could stay up all year, but I am totally loving the idea. My son (age 4) is really into it too and has asked for it to hang in his room. I'm working on a good reason to say no.

Thank you PurplePaisley! It's amazing!

My awesome package 2 arrived from Megzy! It actually came on Friday, but we had a busy weekend topped off by a household flu. Sad

But on to the goodies! Sorry that my photo-taking skills suck so bad.

To add to my yarn stash, some soft and pretty yarn. This will be doll clothes soon:

A tote bag with come-along handle for the kiddo:

FOUR shirts for my son! Here' three of them:

And here he is sportin' the fourth:

Plus extra goodies! This is some duckie fabric and a foam frame kit. Yes, that would be Max stealing it before I can even get a picture.

And a patch and 2 cross stitches!

Yep, I was spoiled. Thanks Megzy!!

I received from beefishie. Smiley

She made me a set of mug charms (like wine glass charms, but for coffee mugs) since we have constant mug mix-ups around here!

Thanks!

I received a wonderful angel package this month from the talented and generous gotgrey.

She claimed me for a stuffy for my 4-year-old Max. She originally thought she would do a beaver, but ended up doing a opossum instead, which is really awesome. Max is into all kinds of animals, and was thrilled to get one he didn't have. We spent quite a while yesterday looking at opossum pictures, and reading Opossum Magic. I tried for a nice staged picture, but he won't let him go:

She also sent this cool wall hanging for me, based off a picture I have pinned:

And an awesome tote bag with a Dr. Suess quote:

AND a bunch of extras; a tin my a train on it (Max already snagged that too), a bunch of rubber duckies (which he collects and were a big hit), and some cool animal print fabric that will go to good use:

Thanks, gotgrey!!

I've received from JillH.  Smiley

She claimed me for storytelling objects, which she made as pictures in some sort of lid(?). Anyway, they're really cool; Max and I have already been playing with them. And she even included some blanks in case I want to add more pictures! Thanks!

My wonderful package from Megzy818 arrived yesterday! Woot! Fun stuff!

First up are favorites: her favorite craft supply, embroidery floss, in her favorite colors, and her favorite accessory, socks. I'll be using both! And we evidently like the same colors.  Cheesy

Craft it: two beautiful beaded necklaces and a lovely anchor cross-stitch, since she loves all things nautical. Excellent work!

Hobbies: A hippo, since she loves/collects hippos, and a book since she's a big reader too. Christopher Moore is an excellent choice; I'm definitely a fan and she picked one I don't have!

Closer to home: Some shells she collected herself, which I'll use when making primitive jewelry this summer, and lovely paper stars.

Thank you!!

I received my swap package from Rodelphia today!  Smiley

First, there was an R2-D2 inspired drop spindle:

Super cute, yeah?

Then, some Star Wars planet inspired roving:

That'd be Endor, Hoth, and Tatooine.

And a copy of Family Guy does Star Wars with some cute mini erasers:

Thanks, Rodelphia, it was great swapping with you.  Smiley
