1  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Stitch Diva's curlicue scarf on: December 16, 2005 10:09:47 PM
I took a class with the creator of Stitch Diva a couple of months ago to learn how to make this scarf and finally found the time to finish it.  http://www.stitchdiva.com/ProductInfo.aspx?productid=SDS-016

The scarf (not as dark in real life  as it looks in this pic)

A close up.

I used GGH's soft kid (color #13 I think.) for the main body of the scarf. The outside yarns are Crystal Palace Musique (Berry Parfait) and the silver sparkly yarn is Rowan Lurex Shimmer (#333 Pewter).

I've gotten a lot of compliments on the scarf so I'm making one for my mom for Christmas in burgundy.  I'll try to post a pic of it  if there's time before Christmas.

Thanks for looking!
2  Texas / Texas: Central / Visiting Austin for a week. Where should I go? on: June 23, 2005 06:50:42 PM
Hey Austinites (is that the right word? is that even a word?) I'm visiting your wonderful city next week and staying for a week. I've been to Austin many times, but haven't really done much shopping there. Since I will have some time to kill in between stuffing my face at Magnolia Cafe, Chuy's, Amy's ice cream, and Threadgill's  (you think I'm kidding, but sadly, I'm not) I would love your suggestions on places to shop (more boutique than mall), good flea markets, thrift stores, LYS's, etc.

Thanks in advance for your help!
