1  Ruffled Flower headbands- I'm Obsessed! in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by BlossomandBloom on: January 15, 2012 08:53:20 AM
So I got this box of buttons from my grandma ( I KNOW !!! ) and was looking for a way to use some of the more glamorous ones. I developed these ruffle flowers based on the types I've seen all over the place.

This was the first one I made. It's almost 4 inches across and the center is a bunch of fake pearls. I stuck it on an elastic headband. I love the way it looks, but it's almost to 'bridal' so I don't kow if I'll ever wear it. It may go to my friend who's getting married this summer.

This one is on a alligator clip, using the darker chiffon was tricky because the hot glue tended to show through. A good learning experience though. If I make more of the darker colors, I'll probably use a fabric that is not see-through,

Another white one. The center is a little piece of chain. I thought it made it look a little less bridal. It's about 3 inches in diameter and is glued onto a plain white headband. If I could do it over, I would have re-covered the headband so it matched better

This is probably my favorite, It's sort of silvery-grey with a vintage rhinestone button in the center on a brown headband so I can wear it in my brown hair.

I hope y'all like them! C&C appreciated.

2  Made my own Missoni sneakers in Shoes: Completed Projects by BlossomandBloom on: January 13, 2012 10:52:53 PM
Inspired by this http://www.refinery29.com/who-needs-target-we-ve-got-diy-missoni-shoes/slideshow#slide-1 post on refinery29, I made my own zig zag sneakers out of a pair of hot pink keds I wasn't wearing.

I still have to clean up the rubber where I got some paint on it, but I think they turned out pretty well. Now I just have to get some matching shoelaces...

c&c appreciated  Smiley

3  New Kanzashi Flower Accessories- in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by BlossomandBloom on: November 14, 2011 09:01:17 AM
Hi all!

Here are some of the new things I've been working on. I'm trying to get ALL my Christmas crafting out of the way before the end of November (fat chance Smiley) and I'm making some progress.

This little guy is fuchsia canvas with a black button center. I've made a few in this color with floral stamen, too. The stamen look cool but are a b*#%h to work with, especially when covered with glue. I've wrecked a few flowers by accidentally getting glue all over them. I often will use a button to avoid the headache.

This one is bigger- almost 4 inches across. I'm kind of obsessed with the houndstooth leaves.

Simple, no leaves. My little sister loves to stick these on her big chunky knit hats, but the ones with leaves stick out too much. Hence, just the flower.

Okay, here comes Christmas. Although, this one is just red, so I'm thinking I'd wear it year round.

Last, but not least, A poinsettia. I had to have one. And come on, it's kanzashi! Of course I have to make the Christmas flower.

Thanks for looking. C&C encouraged Smiley

4  Autumn Dress SO EASY in Clothing for Curvaceous Craftsters: Completed Projects by BlossomandBloom on: October 06, 2011 07:17:59 PM
This afternoon, I whipped up this dress in a couple hours. The sash took the longest and I don't even love how it turned out.
Inspired by this tutorial
http://asmallsnippet.blogspot.com/2011/09/wanna-make-dress.html
I chose a cap sleeve shirt instead of a tank top and I'm thinking of making one with long sleeves as well.

With the Sash I made (and don't love Embarrassed)

Next Up, I have a white tank top and turquoise and brown ikat fabric. The shirts in my closet better look out!

5  Halloween Kanzashi (picture fluffy) in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by BlossomandBloom on: September 08, 2011 09:29:14 PM
Hey Hey everyone! It's been a LOOOOOOONG time since I even visited Craftster let alone posted anything. In the past I was known as TastyMagic, but I changed my name for internet unity purposes Smiley. Anyways, I recently whipped up a bunch of Halloween themed Kanzashi flowers. Where I work, we can't really dress up for halloween but I  love the holiday and we get little trick or treaters so I wanted something festive that I could wear on the bus home without taking up 2 seats.

ANYWAYS. . .here they are:
These are just Halloween colors without being a specific costume type. Made with twill and 'outdoor fabric' material and some buttons from the stash (kanzashi are EXCELLENT stash busters)

These 2 little dudes are pins made with grey suiting material. The centers are a skull cameo sticker from the scrapbooking section

This group was inspired by my favorite costume: the vampire (no sparkles or southern accents here I'm talkin' straight up Bella Lugosi, Nosferatu, old gothic vamps people!) Black satin, red chiffon-y material -i think it was probably curtains at some point, red and black floral stamen, and some metal beading fingings.
