1  KNITTING / Knitalongs / maybe this is boring but... striped Noro Scarf - a - long? on: July 01, 2007 08:36:52 PM
Ok so obviously this is a super-easy project and yes I know it's summer, but I became obsessed with making a striped Noro scarf Brooklyn Tweed style (http://brooklyntweed.blogspot.com/2007/04/noro-scarf.html) and I'd really like to see how other people's are turning out because I know there are some of you out there besides me who are making them! So... knit-along / post-your-picture along? Mine's almost done and I'll show it off soon...
2  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / another Branching Out on: May 29, 2007 11:42:53 AM
I've finished my version of Knitty's Branching out scarf. I'm pretty proud of it as it is my first-ever lace project and didn't turn out half bad! It's knit of mohair. More pictures and little details on the blog.
3  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / My bergere de France sweater est fini! on: May 24, 2007 10:04:14 AM
I finally finished this sweater, in time for my mom's birthday! I think it turned out quite well. There are a few more little ramblings on my blog.

4  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / green babydoll dress on: April 22, 2007 06:55:32 AM
So I made this dress kind of without a pattern but I'm pretty happy with how it turned out! I had to sew the buttonholes by hand which was a pain and there are some imperfections but oh well. Can't learn anything unless you try, right?

5  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Where are you Spring? I want to wear my new dress! on: April 12, 2007 10:22:57 AM
SO I don't know about you but where I live it's about 35 degrees outside. But having to be indoors motivated me to make this dress which I am SO happy with! I bought the pattern on sale so they were out of my size and the dress is still a bit big despite taking the whole thing apart to re-size it. But nevertheless, I can't wait until it's warm enough to wear it! I hope you like it...

I used Simplicity 3823 and it was nice and easy for my sewing level (not too high)
6  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / hallelujah I made a dress I like! (lots of pictures) on: February 12, 2007 05:22:21 PM
I used a pattern but altered it a bit to get the *poof* around the hips. My boyfriend said it's not too flattering but I don't care so much, it's the style I guess.

Maybe not everyone likes it, but I do! And I'm proud that I finally made something I like and that wasn't just from a pattern!
7  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / blocking question on: January 18, 2007 08:01:44 AM
So I made a sweater that I love except that it's HUGE! My stepmom told me blocking can sometimes help shrink a sweater but I haven't found any good instructions, and I don't want to risk making it even bigger. Has anyone got a method for blocking that would shrink a sweater? Thank you thank you!
8  CLOTHING / Designer Clothing Homage / help with a kate moss tunic... on: January 13, 2007 05:23:16 PM
I really love this tunic Kate Moss is wearing:

(I'm putting it here because I assume it is designer although I don't know who makes it)
Has anyone seen a pattern that would look something like this? I've been looking but with no luck! Thanks!
9  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / a snazzy green tam! on: January 12, 2007 04:10:08 PM
I knit this green tam/beret/whatever you want to call it by sortof following a free pattern and adding cables and changing other little things. Pictures:

the side view (not very beret looking)

the view of me that my boyfriend thought made me look like a french person (that's a fake cigarette btw and a stuffed monkey on my shoulder...)

I hope those photos work!
10  CLOTHING / Designer Clothing Homage / Orla Kiely dress = LOVE on: January 03, 2007 02:35:52 PM
Despite not liking to be a trend-follower most of the time, I have fallen in love with babydoll dresses and this one is so beautiful: http://www.anthropologie.com/jump.jsp?sbsize=1&sbs=1&sbsCatID=314&itemID=13222&itemType=PRODUCT&iSubCat=314&iMainCat=4

Does anyone have a good babydoll/trapeze style dress pattern? It seems like it would be easy to make but the sleeves might be a bit difficult...?
