This housewarming gift was inspired by a dear friend's love of the American Eagle and her unwavering devotion to both God and country as she proudly serves in the US Army.

This is a mixed-media piece that features two beautiful eagles (photographed in the Jacksonville, FL zoo) and the lyrics from God Bless the USA, by Lee Greenwood.

I began with a blank 16 x 20 stretched canvas and used Gesso (with various tools) to create a textured foundation for this acrylic painting, then I added the birds' photos, which were enlarged, cut out and stuffed to make them 3D. Each was adhered to the painting using Tacky Glue. The lyrics were added via a gel medium transfer technique, I found here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iSWxjDeWCqY
