My BF is getting me a dressmakers dummy. I have weird proportions (I need a different pattern size at waist, bust and hips!). So he is getting me a dressform to help me fit patterns as he doesn't understand a word I am saying when I ask him for help.

I prefer the polystyrene body's to the plastic ones, and they tend to be non-adjustable. When looking at the UK sizes a 16 is too big (in the bust, waist and hips are almost there), and a 14 is too small (as much as 4 inches in the waist). I know that I need to buy one that is smaller than my measurements, but are they easy to 'pad-out'?

Does anyone have any tips? I don't like the duct tape models and would rather buy one.
