1  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Some paintings. Woooo on: June 07, 2006 01:33:03 PM

I painted that for my sensei with watercolor. The tiger looks janky, but I like the rest.

Acyrlic on cardboard. This painting was so easy.

This is egg tempera. I think it turned out ok. There is definitely a lot of room for improvement.

I painted this for my mom for mothers day. I think it turned out pretty good for the amount of time I spent on it.
2  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / My first painting on canvas! on: May 10, 2006 07:46:10 PM
Here is the original picture that was taken on a vacation to the Dominican Republic:

And my painting:

The flash makes is so some of the wrinkles in the hand don't show up. Overall, I am proud! I love painting, and I have already started on another canvas. Woooooo!
3  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Pottery, Ceramics, etc: Completed Projects / Tribute Box on: January 14, 2006 12:33:16 PM
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v435/Melanie1989/16e04751.jpg

Here's my tribute box for my sculpture and ceramics class. It's for my grandpa. I made the actual cross out of foam core and lotsa tape and paper mache. Then I just painted it...yeah...haha...he was a very religous man. On the top shelf (all the shelves are attatched to eachother with copper wire) is a picture of him, and a religious book of his, along with a card from his funeral. Hanging from the top shelf is a line of pennies (that I connected with wire) from his coin collection. Hanging from the far left shelf is a picture of him and my grandma. From a birthday party I guess? I don't even know. On the right shelf, there's that little blue guy and another copper thing. The blue guy is an ordament that was given to my grandpa by one of his students. He's holding a little sign that says "Mr. Sears". Teaching was a really big part of his life. Next to that is a little mini ashtray, which you can't see that well in the picture. It doesn't look as crappy in real life, haha. The red beads hanging is actually my grandpa's rosary hanging from a nail that I put in there. On the next shelf down there's a religious tape that he made, with "Glorious Mysteries" written on the label. It had his writing on it which is why I chose that particular tape. Then there are some pictures which are just from his childhood. On the very bottom shelf is a lighter. It's really hard to see in the picture, but it's there. Haha. Lastly, hanging from the bottom shelf is a pendant of Father Solonas. I don't know anything about him other than he was my grandpa's favorite paster and I guess he even went to visit him when he (Father Solonas) was dying.

4  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / Sleazy Cheesy Pockets-I need the recipe! on: October 18, 2005 03:36:20 PM
I was just watching "Home Matters", and there was a vegetarian biker guy named Bill on there that made Sleazy Cheesy Pockets. The recipe was on the screen, but I didn't bother to copy it down, because I figured I could find it on the internet. I can't. Wahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

Does anyone, by any chance, have the recipe?

I just got this soldering gun off of Ebay:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=4406320549&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWN%3AIT&rd=1

to use for my jewlery. Problem is, I have no clue how to use it, and no directions came with it! Can someone help me and give me some basic instructions?

10  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / All of my pieces from my drawing class this year on: May 10, 2005 03:45:53 PM
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v435/Melanie1989/Random%20shizit/811f6b41.jpg

This is done with chalk, and was the first project I did this year. I kind of like how it turned out, but I'm not super proud of it. You can see the original picture taped to the corner.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v435/Melanie1989/Random%20shizit/c56dfd5c.jpg

This is the self-portrait that doesn't look anything like me. I like my backround though.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v435/Melanie1989/Random%20shizit/Picture268.jpg

I like this one. We went out to the woods to draw, then we were set free to do whatever we wanted, and this is what I came up with.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v435/Melanie1989/Random%20shizit/Picture266.jpg

This is my still life drawing. I am pretty happy with the way it turned out. It is going to be entered in the Focus show!  Grin
